Just Drive Away

theres a time to evade and a time to fight. risk management is as much a skill as gunfighting, as they often go hand and hand anyways.

Yep. I have always been a proponent of self-extraction over engagement when reasonably able.

I've done it at least a couple of times I can recall when working in pizza delivery, when "shadies" have run up on my truck. None of them turned out to be the actual customers.

Yes, even in USA driving away if possible is always the preferred response. Sadly given identity of occupants in South Africa that is the only option they have ie to run away.

Driving away ( clearing away from a potential ambush situation) was an important part of our "officer survival" training years ago. According to what I've read these skills seem to have been forgotten in recent years. The ambush you're able to avoid is far better than any shootout where you're at a severe tactical disadvantage....

Nicely done. He didn't even dent the Rover. That engine block will stop all the incoming rounds that c.h.u.d. could toss at him. Still, it would have been nice if he could have tagged the gunman on his way by.
