My friend has a Glock 34. As much as I hate to say it, his beat up G34 will outshoot my Kimber Custom II more than half the time. It has, at times pained me to say this, but I have a lot of respect for the Glock.
I've owned a custom II and I have a 34. I think your friend is out shooting you, not the 34.
Seriously though, the 34 has a good bit more sight radius...so with the right sights to take advantage of that and the right shooter...yeah it may do that all day long. 7.5" for the glock and 6.8" for the Kimber. That nearly 3/4" makes a big difference IMHO. If you could magically extend that sight radius and put a thinner front sight on there, things would be different.
But mechanically, I honestly may believe the Kimber to be the more accurate of the two. I've owned both and still own the Glock.
Actually, I was shooting his G34 and my Kimber side by side. I probably should have clarified that. I could have just been having a bad day with my Kimber, though....

Like I said...nearly 3/4" in sight radius makes a difference.
My gen4 g34 is one of the more "fun" guns I've bought. Too early to tell, though. It's still new and different for me. I haven't had time to run it hard, just some informal plinking at clay pigeons and cans at distance.
Now that you have a 22, get a midsize 19 or jump to a 21. I got to admit though I have always wanted a full size 22 or 17 myself. I do own a 27 and a 19 and a 21, they will never leave me.
