First 1911

Congratulations!!! Say goodbye to any "extra money" from this point forward.:D

there have been a couple episodes on American Rifleman the last two weeks about the 1911 and its history. You might enjoy watching them if you can find them. Congrats on the pistol - everyone should have at least one.

A real Colt's Government Model for your first 1911. That's the way to do it. Enjoy your first of many 1911s.

Hello I'm .... and I am a 1911 addict. I started out with Colts then added Springfield,LB, Wilson, C&S, Kandros Custom and several WWI and WWII to the pack. I keep on trying to stop but just cann't. It's a great addiction.

Cheers,

ts

say goodbye to half your paycheck in ammo bills.

When I reload, it costs me about $8.36/box of 50.
(and I buy the bullets)
If you cast your own bullets (projectiles)? You can cut that in half.

Any one with a 44/45 anything, reloading your own is absolutely the way to go.

Just my humble opinion & 2¢ worth.

Hondo, I found that when I reloaded I didn't save any money. I just shot many more rounds for the same money. :D

Is that a Series 70 in stainless? I have a Series 70 Gov't in satin nickel, but I didn't know they were made in stainless. Or is it a "new" Series 70? Or am I totally off the mark?

I'm no metallurgist, but my understanding is that the stainless guns of the '70s had a tendency to gall, but that today's stainless steel is far superior. Comments, anyone?
