Finally decided the next gun on my list is a Colt Government Competition 9mm. (I want to upgrade 1911-style 9mm from a Star Super B.)

It's new, comes with a bunch of good stuff, and seems reasonably priced at $750.00

Wondering, however, has anyone tried one? My LGS just got one in on trade and I'll be visiting in the next 24 hours and I wouldn't mind hearing some opinions and if folks think the price is fair?

For all my pistols Colt is the only flavor I have none of. This will be my first, and probably last, Colt, or in fact any pistol (not because of the pistol itself, but the safe is getting full and I want to shoot what I own, not just dust them quarterly).

No experience with the Colt Government Competition in 9mm. but my last few 1911s are all Colts. Picked up a Colt Government and a Lightweight Government a few years back and to my way of thinking (and prior experience), these are some of the best quality 1911s Colt has made in quite a few years. The price on the used one at your LGS sounds fair; might be room for a little negotiation. Let us know how it goes and if you decide to get the gun. If you do get it photos are a must!
