I can't think of a better way to remember your Dad than to have his Single Six and taking it out and shooting it!
What a great way to enjoy a family heirloom!
For sure on that. Mom found the belt holster for it.
I'm looking forward to trying my hand at squirrels with it this fall, well, depending on what the tomatoes look like this summer.
I give the barrel a real good go thru with the Kroil, she is just pristine. Dad loved this little gun, as much as he loved his Colts. He always had a blast cracking away with it at cans, clay birds, shotshell hulls laying on the ground at the gravel pit.
He was pretty darn good with it, better than most. Man those were good times.
I do have another heirloom, and that is his grandfather's, what I think is a colt new army, 41 Long Colt. That one isn't all that nice, I think it dates to 1908. My great grandfather owned a bar in Arizona, and that was behind the bar with him at all times. Think that was back in the 1930s.
Both of em home with me now
