This morning I ordered a laminated stock M91/30 from Classic Arms. The picture featured on their website was just too pretty for me to resist any longer. It comes with the sling, bayonet, and oil bottle, ammo pouch. I called them and requested a Hex shaped reciever of Tula manufactor, and paid a small premium for the "hand select" option. Has anyone else bought or actually seen one of these. price was right, $119 plus shipping. Any input appreciated.

I havent ordered from them yet, so please post back here when you get it and let us all know how it looks. I'll be ordering a case of Mausers from them soon and maybe a couple more K31's. Let me know how thier service is.:)

I've got a 1937 Ish. laminate. Remember that by definition all or almost all of the laminated 91/30's were rearsenaled. The laminated stocks came into play after production of 91/30's switched to M-44's. In fact I believe the process wasn't put into play until the 1950's.

Mine is a great shooter for a 91/30 and I suspect only the best were selected from the millions to be put in a fancy new stock and get reissued. They didn't put them in a new laminate just for looks. There was a lot of communist pride of production in that lamination. Hopefully your Tula will have a strong bore with no counterboring.

I faxed my C&R to them on Wensday, called back Thursday morning to place my order and spoke to Bob (who also manages the website), he was very helpful and informative. He mentioned they had a few superior rifles in the back and offered to send me one of those for a nominal additional cost. We spoke about the history of the MN's, which he seemed to have a genuine interest in. Told me he would hand select a nice one with an excellent to pristine bore (!). He also stated he would UPS this to me with an arrival time of about 2-3 days. Can't wait to see what I'm getting. transaction has been very smooth so far, and the 2 people I spoke with, on 2 separate calls really couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I'll post back once I take delivery. Has anyone else dealt with Classic arms?

I've purchased a lot of ammo from them over the last few years and they've been great source. Great prices and quick delivery. Sadly their ammo page still show some prices for .308's that have long been out of stock:( Makes you long for "the good ole days"
