I am planning to get three rifles from Classic Arms to kick off my C&R collection:

YUGO SKS EXCELLENT $199.95 + $10.00 HAND SELECT
M 91/30 HARDWOOD STOCK W/ HEX RECEIVER EXCELLENT $89.95 + $10.00 HAND SELECT
LAMINATED STOCK M44 LIKE NEW $99.95 + $10.00 HAND SELECT

Before I sign on the dotted line, anyone have any strong feelings on other sources (price, grading, service, etc.) or particular models to get?

Thanks and regards,

Matthew

Classic Arms is good A+ in my book.
You are getting the same that I got (although years ago, before I knew about Classic), except I have not picked up the M44 yet.
The SKS is fun and surprisingly accurate and the Mosin-Nagant is fun (with light ball ammo). Go forth with confidence.

I have ordered a Mauser 98k from them and they are good to deal with. I did get a VERY hurried feeling on the phone, but they gave me no real trouble.

never bought from them personally, but as far as the price goes, I have never seen them at any online dealers cheaper (although several others offer the same price), so the only way to beat it price-wise at least, would be to go to your local Big 5 (if you have them where you are) to get the mosins. they go for the same, or sometimes a little less, and you save on the shipping. dont know if they carry SKS's though.

Classic is an A+ company to deal with I live about 30 miles from them and they have a local FFL that will do your paper work for you for $15 if you need that. They are a small operation personnel wise so at time it's hard to get them on the phone, rest assured they will always do you right or make right anything you have a problem with.
