Somehow I became a knife accumulator over the course of the past year. As expected my knowledge of and taste in knives has expanded considerably. As I am needing to take down my garden/clean up my yard before winter hits I decided I needed a blade to help me do the work.

I thought about just buying an inexpensive machete but decided I wanted something more interesting. I was looking at some of Condor’s offerings but decided on the ESEE Junglas. I have three other ESEE knives and really like their 1095. That along with a micarta handle and US manufacture sealed the deal.

Once it shows up and I get a chance to put it through it’s paces I’ll try and post a review with pictures.

That is one heck of a machete for trimming up the garden. Sounds like an excuse to get a new "toy". :D

I have a couple ESEE knives. Very happy with all of them, I keep one in my truck at all times just in case.

The Junglas felt good when I handled it, but I found an RTAK 2 for less than $100, delivered. And it's the 5160 model, not 1095.

Many really like the Junglas. I hope you like yours. Me, I went with some of the Condor line (Pack Golok, Golok, Parang machete) as they are less expensive and more appropriate for me, price wise. Different sizes for different cutting chores.

The Junglas is apparently an "anti-narcotics knife." I wonder what is in your garden? :p

I love my junglas and found quite a good bit of use for it clearing brush on my grandmothers property. After quite a bit of hacking it was still razor sharp.

I really liked my Junglas, but living Up North if I'm going to carry 2 lbs on my hip it's going to be an axe or hatchet.

The Junglas is a freaking nice machete, the sheath alone would sell for $60 by itself.
