I went to the Philly gun show over the weekend. Was a lot to look at. I found this gun used but in very clean condition. Has a Nikon Monarch 3-9/40 scope and came with 5 boxes of ammo for $750. I thought this was a decent deal considering the ammo alone is worth close to $250. Here are some pics..

Nice rifle and scope combo...you got a good deal. The Remington 700 BDL in338 WM is my bear/camp gun when we go up north for fishing. Good luck with your new rifle.

Not much to really hunt here in NJ. Have never really hunted other than birds. Would love to take a trip out of state in the future.

Very nice rifle, an older BDL. I have the same one in .25-06 with a heavy barrel. The wood is beautiful on these guns.

Wow, just wow! The M700 BDLs are so pretty. The .338 WIn Mag, as you likely know, will say "Hello" better than a morning cup of coffee. I had the Classic in .338 WIn Mag. Lordy sakes!

Have fun with your new toy!

Nice looking rifle, but I believe the stock is not original. It does not have the dual stock reinforcing pins that come on magnum chambered BDLs, or the factory recoil pad. The early BDL magnums did not always have dual pins, but by the time the skip line checkering was used, the magnums also usually had a checkered grip cap instead of smooth as well. Anything is possible though, it may be original.

Have fun hunting with it. Years ago (early nineties), a friend and I planned on moving to Alaska upon graduating high school. He went out and bought a .338, I went out and bought a .35 Whelen. I now live in Alaska, he never left Pennsylvania, so he uses the .338 on whitetails now and then. It seems to kill them dead.

Nice looking rifle. Not trying to go off topic, but I'm not familiar with that caliber. What is the actual diameter of the 338 WM bullet?

Shoulder diameter .491 in (12.5 mm)
Base diameter .513 in (13.0 mm)
Rim diameter .532 in (13.5 mm)
Case length 2.50 in (64 mm)

I put 10 rounds through it later yesterday. Well one thing for sure it does kick pretty hard. Had limited time so only got a 50 yard target set up. Probably try again over the weekend to check sighting but it seems pretty darn close.. Thanks for all the comments. :)
