Big ammo news ...

Remember when I posted in February that the ammo was going to be resupplied around the 1st of March? Well, it is going down now ...

Bass Pro Shops are being restocked everywhere. I just bought $7000.00 worth from the one here (Myrtle Beach) less than an hour ago. (There were only ten boxes of .380 ACP in the entire shipment they received.)

Anyways, Bass Pro Shop got in 44 million in ammo Tuesday and it is being dispersed to all of their stores ASAP - most receiving shipments last night and today.

Also, was told that Wally World has also been replenished as of this week (their warehouses already have it in their possession) and it will be going out to their stores over the course of the next few days - so you might want to keep an eye out.

Good luck.

I have to be honest with you - I have no idea about individual prices per box right at the moment. I had one of my managers run over there and pick it up and he was reading me off so many prices and so many boxes over the phone, while I was driving down the road, that I could not jot them down and cannot remember specifics right at the moment. I finally said fine, and just told him to rake everything in 223, x 39, 380 ACP, 45 ACP, 9mm, 44 Mag, 38/357, 40 S&W and 357 SIG into the baskets and roll out of there. Everything we need at the club right now - we were pretty much out. We did not pick-up any of the 308 as it was all the high dollar hunting stuff and we really need more plinking 308, and the milspec stuff, than any hunting specific loads right now. (I take that back - I was just told there are about twenty boxes of Fed Match King 168s in there for the paper punchers at the club.)

I asked him if he caught any flack about the purchase and he said, "Heck no," they told him, "the more you buy the more we reorder and it makes our store look good," so they evidently did not have a problem with it at all. That's when the manager told him that they had the 44 million dollars worth in stock at the main warehouse and he would have the shelves replinished by the weekend ... for us not to worry about taking what they had.

Doesn't do me any good since I'm not home but thought I'd share with ya'll. Here's hoping it's true.

Always wondered if this ammo & primer thing wasn't a "time of the year" issue.....let me explain.

(December)....End of year every store tries to reduce stock, partially for tax reasons.

(January)...Shot Show is where many stores place their orders for the upcoming year.

(Feb-Mar)....Manufacturers begin shipments and filling orders taken during Shot Show. Not a lot of shooting during the winter months, stores want the inventory for the upcoming spring when everyone heads to the range.

I was at wally world at 6 this morning and they had 50 boxes off 100 count wwb in 9mm among other stuff. Most ive seen in a while
