Just venting a little bit and man I am not a fan of Lena Miculeck right now lol…ugh

I don't have any problem with the Rose deal, I DO have a big problem with .380 tho. The .380 is more expensive than 9mmx19 ,and MUCH MUCH harder to get and will always be. The lighter 9mm loads ar almost the equal of recoil to a .380. and most .380s are not fully locked breech so kick as hard or have lightened slides and springs which make them snappier. .380 is a poor choice in any handgun purchase IMHO unless you find some used one that blows up your skirt for some odd reason . The .30 carry makes more sense until it turns up unobtainium for ammo in the future, the 9x19 never will. If a person can't handle the 9x19 recoil , get a .38 special revolver and shoot wad cutters or the 130 grain wimpy military load that's every place
It's not too often I disagree with you but what the hey.

Today there are quite a few newer .380 pistols that I find easy to load and rack and maintain as well as pretty much pussy cats when it comes to recoil and still really accurate and easy to return to POA.

Of ones I own or owned:

S&W 380EZ.
Ruger Security 380.
Walther CCP M2+.
Walther First Edition PPK380.

And ones I've shot:

Sig P365-380.
Sig 238.
Walther PD380.

Yes, ammo is more expensive but realistically a recreational diet of .380 ammo is still far less expensive than golf or tennis or skiing or sail boats or sports cars or ...

My wife took over this LCR327 a year or so ago
I purchased a Ruger Security 380 .. a fins pistol
But she still likes the 327 with 32 H&R

Was at Scheel‘s today with my wife. She happens across the Sig Sauer display and see’s this 365 in .380 and decides she wants it. Ok great, not a bad choice in a self defense gun but the problem is that it is this gimmicky abomination called the Rose that was apparently endorsed by Miculek‘s daughter to make her and Sig a bunch of money tugging on the emotions of women shooters and annoying their husbands which it did to me in spades.
The sales man tries including me on his pitch to sell the gun when I replied to him to keep talking to her (my wife) because the only purpose that gimmicky crap serves is to rob us of another $250 of hard earned cash over the standard 365. My wife isn’t thrilled with how annoyed I am by the entire purchase. Just one more time….GIMMICKY CRAP!!!!! Ah, that does feel a bit better.
With the most popular guns for sale today just being clones with nothing different to offer, I am not surprised companies are adding bling to set them apart and sell more guns. Kinda like what is done the cars and everything else.
jmo,
.

I don't think that it's a good idea to make firearms look like toys. Also, the point of a concealed carry pistol is to NOT be seen. So why bling it up? If I had a wife that wanted to spend an extra $250 just for the appearance of the pistol, I'd consider looking for a new wife.

What's your opinion on the CCP M2+?

I've got one. Actually, I'll say I've "had" two in 9mm because my first one had a defective chamber and Walther ended up just sending me another in its place.

I love the pistol. But it has a couple..."quirks" that irritate me and I'm wondering if others have issues or if theirs are flawless in function.

Did you even look at an image of the SIG P-365-380 Rose? It hardly looks like a toy. Frankly, I think the accented pieces look quite tasteful.

I'm sure my lady would like it (except she doesn't go below 9mm). I sure don't begrudge my wife for wanting pretty things, and another $250 over the standard price of anything my wife wants is a small price to pay to make her happy.

But I don't like purple or pink plastic guns.

P.S. - I've always like Kay Clark and I like her daughter Lena as well -- they're the kind of role models I want for the women in my life. Jerry, he's just a legend. Love that guy, too.

My wife wanted a Kimber Bel-air Micro 380. I don’t remember if there was a premium price for the Bel-air but if she is happy, I’m happy.
Lol. There was a price increase. I paid it and she (my wife) loves that little gun also.

Be glad as got off cheep there as $350 beats 150k for a motor home too make her happy. I do have a bunch of .380 guns but no fan of them at all vs colt browning designs due to the lighter kick in a bigger round.

Paying a premium for a fancy firearm is just a drop in the bucket list. My wife and eldest daughter are into competing in driving Dartmoor ponies from the coal country of the UK. We ship ponies back and forth between the UK and the USA on a regular basis. Not an economical endeavor.

But, cost do compete with my competition in amateur sports car racing:).

I have a Smith 65 LadySmith. I'd been wanting a 3" model 65 or 66. That barrel length isn't common but I ran across this one at a good price. Those guns were made with a matte finish with the words LadySmith etched into the frame. A previous owner decided to polish the gun smooth to get rid of the logo. It almost worked. The logo is quite faint, but is still visible. Otherwise it looks good and it was relatively cheap. I'm still man enough to carry it. At least the previous owner replaced the pink grips.

I have three, a CCP 380 M2+, my older version 1 CCP 9mm that the key broke and neither Walther or Earl could get them and the little latch on the striker was getting where it didn't hold and the striker spring looked like a Slincky after a two year old's birthday party so Walther upgraded it to M2 status with a new farme and new slide with the old firing pieces parts transferred and a 9mm CCP M2+.

I have long liked slim single stack 9mm and so have quite a few. The CCPs have so far been reliable, accurate feel like they were made just for my hand, easy to rack, the magazines are easy to load and once I learned the secret handshake and got my Decoder Ring, easy to maintain plus the M2 a significant improvement over the first version. It's certainly not perfect (for example the my PK380 First Edition is truly ambidextrous with safeties and magazine releases on both sides and symmetrical grips that fit right and left hand equally) but on days when my body jess flat says it ain't gonna rack the Shield or UltraStar or Sig P239 the CCPs are one of the ones that comes off the bench.

Things I've heard folk complain about include it getting hot right in front of the trigger guard but so far with mine I can shoot a box of ammo without that becoming an issue and frankly most of my range trips these days are a couple or three magazines to test a particular issue and in SD my active participation will likely take place in about 30 seconds or less. Reassembly is all technique and practice; kinda sorta weird but doable. I did pinch my hand once inserting a magazine. But that's about the limits of potential negatives I've found so far.

I voluntarily paid $100 to have the frame of a neglected Ruger MKIII Cerakoted purple after mama laid claim to it. Also paid another few hundred $ for the Volquartsen accurizing kit and TacSol upper to improve looks and function. The $250 gun turned into about $750 pretty quick. She shoots with me a couple times a year now, which is more than she used to. Haven't regretted it yet.

If bills are paid and she is happy......why not.my wife's the best and if she wants/needs it well she gets it. I have a good one and know many that have and or had bad ones.Im not a fan of upcharge bling. I'll do it myself and how I want to do it.

I wish arthritis had been kinder to my wife's hands so she could still shoot as she enjoyed it. Her father taught her to shoot a rife and I taught her to shoot a pistol while we were still dating. One lesson and she had it down. It's funny how life works. Her hands have enlarged knuckles and twisted fingers with almost no strength. Numerous surgeries with one being to replace a bone in one thumb that arthritis had destroyed while mine that have lead a much tougher life have no arthritis. Stiffness sometimes but they still look and work normally.

I would buy her any color with any decoration handgun she wanted if she could still use it.

It gets hot in front of the trigger guard because of the gas operated piston. That's understandable.

I love mine (M2+ in 9mm) but it's got an issue with the slide not always chambering a round fully.

I've literally hand cycled the slide 10,000 times and run a "blue check" on the slide parts to run a small ultrafine ceramic stone across. But it still gives me that issue occasionally.

It doesn't matter what ammo I use, either.

I haven't had that issue with either the 380 or one of the 9mms. And yup, the cause of the heat issue is known and reasonable but as I said, on mine I don't really notice it until I run 100 rounds or more through fairly rapidly.

There's not much contact between frame and slide so the first thing I'd look at is the feed ramp/magazine geometry. Load up a few dummy rounds and with the slide off carefully examine how a cartridge feeds into the chamber. See if you can see where it hangs up.

If my wife wanted an Sig .380 Rose p365, I would say "yes ma'am" and It would be in her hands in an hour or two with no complaints from me. I wish she would carry something a bit better than her current EDC a Ruger LCP .22LR lite rack.

Had doctor appointments over the last couple days and my carry was my Ruger LCP .22LR lite rack. Disappears in my shorts pocket and doesn't add too much to my weight.
