Any interest out there in a K-31 trench mag? I am a tin bender by trade and I'm thinking when I get bored I'll see if I can't make a few K-31 mags in 10 and 20rd variety. The current situation of a new condition mag costing 60% of the rifle is, in the words of Mike Tyson, ludacwisp!

I'd be interested,if just for the novelty aspect,if one would feed reliably.

Sounds like a neat idea.:)

Sounds good to me.

I saw some nice K31's at the gun show today for $100. Had sling and cleaning kit with oiler. I decided earlier this evening to go back in the morning and get one.

Since you asked...

I don't have a K-31, but I do have a M1911 Schmidt-Rubin, and a few 98 Mausers, a bunch of Lee-Enfields, and an AG-42B Ljungmann that would like trench mags! :D

I don't have a K-31 (yet), but I would would be interested in a trench mag- especially a 10 rounder, but I would settle for a 20 rounder if your making them.

Yep, it's official, mil-surpers are nuts. About the only answer to "why do you need one?" is "Because I can."

We'll see, It will probably be awhile since I'll have to commence building a house soon. THR will certainly be the first to see the ridiculous pics provided the polit-i-trolls don't get the board closed.

I want one. Please inform me of your progress.

And, yes, I need one.
I regularly compete in a local vintage military bolt action rifle match that usually has a stage that requres a reload (10 rounds total). If you are shooting an Enfield, obviously you don't need to reload. However, I don't like my Enfields. They don't shoot good enough to cut the mustard in this match.
I shot a K31 in this match for a couple years but have shot an 03A3 for the last 3-4 matches because of the better sights.
However, I could be tempted to go back to the K31 ( I have been thinking about it anyway) and this mag would certainly push me in that direction.
There is another match that interests me, called the Lord Robert's Match (do a search) where this would come in very handy.

I don't see anything "nuts" about it.

hmmm

Well, if you are making custom magazines, then i am in as well. I wont post a wish-list, thiugh, until you actually agree to do it!
God luck on the house!

Don't know what for...

...but I'd really like to get a 20-rd mag for my K-31. Just because I can, I guess. Of course, the price has to be reasonable.

I'd be hooked if you would also stamp a specific serial number on the mag so it would match that of the rifle!

Can you post a photo of a prototype?

I think its a good idea. But what the K31 croud REALLY needs is some good steel stripper-clips that will hold the proper 6-rounds and match up to the guide...

just mentioning it in case you get bored making cool magazines :D

You could probaby sell high-cap (an applicable term in this case) magazines for just about all the milsurps on the market with some success.

I was just going to ask if someone was going to make mags for the K-31. Even extra 6 round mags would be sweet. 10 or 20 rounds even better just to have for fun!

Do I want a 10 rd mag for a K-31? Nah. I don't want a 20 rd mag either.

But, if you make a 100 round drum, then you're talking my language!

I'd sure be interested in a 10- or 20-round mag (or 6). There's just something about 20 rounds in an accurate boltie that appeals to me.

Seriously, I'd buy a couple 10 and 20 rounders for my K31 if you made them. Heck, as some here have said, extra 6 rounders that don't cost half as much as the rifle would be nice!

Forget the trench mag. You should start making REGULAR mags for the K-31. Do you realize they go for almost as much as the rifles right now? The Swiss only made one per rifle. If someone could reproduce K-31 mags and market for under $30 I know a lot of folks who would buy them.
