K31 - did I miss out?

I ended up getting one on gunbroker last night. I guess I paid too much, but there was at least one other dude out there willing to pay $5 less than I did. It's got the usual damage on the butt from ice cleats, but it's walnut, so that's a plus.

Congratulations! I think you will really like the way it shoots. Post some photos when you get it.

Now if we could just find a few cases of GP11.
 
I checked my Gander about a week ago. All K11s. At $299 I'd have grabbed one, but they are 399 at the moment. :/
 
Availability and prices on K31's are a lot better now than they were back in the '70's.

I can't recall exact prices, but IIRC, they were generally $1000 plus back then, IF you could even find one.
Its the ONLY mil surp rifle I know of that's actually gone down in price over the long haul.

So instead of feeling like you've missed the boat, just find one in decent shape and buy it.

It won't be very long before people are saying, "I remember when you could pick 'em up for less than 500 (or 1000) bucks apiece"...
 
Keep and eye on AIM surplus, JG Sales, and some of the others. They do pop up from time to time. Strike while the iron is hot because you never know when they will stop coming in.
 
Powder Valley has Prvi brass. $46 per hundred. I ordered 200 pieces last night. My K31 was at my local post office this morning and should be at my FFL's shop later today.

Picked it up this afternoon. Walnut stock with the usual ice cleat damage near the butt. Everything else looks to be in really great shape. All numbers matching and I don't see any import marks. Shop where I had it shipped had some Reloder 17, so I picked up a couple pounds to feed it.

Very nice. I had a walnut K31 and traded it away during a phase of stupidity. I've not seen any for sale in a while.
 
Anyone know of a good deal on a bayonet? For whatever dumb reason I just like to have bayonets for my rifles that will accept them.
