Evening all! After some (foolish) debating, I finally ordered a K31 from Widener's. Without firing a single round, this rifle has become my new second favorite (seconded only to the Garand).

It is a beech stock with surprisingly little "character." Looks almost brand new. The metal was absolutely pristine. It has all matching serial numbers (not sure if that is uncommon in K31s), and to my surprise a troop tag was under the buttstock! Awesome!

Cleaning this thing up was an absolute breeze. The bolt is amazingly intuitive to disassemble as is the rifle itself; probably the easiest of my milsurp collection.

I cannot wait to take this guy out for a stroll on the range!

k31's are a rifleman's rifle. Designed to by shot by a person ACCURATELY, without a scope. Groups at 100yds at or close to 1 moa are common. I have had good luck with the Hornady load on deer. BTW some of these in Walnut have striped stocks from front to rear. Would be really beautiful if redone, but still good looking as is.

I'm a recent K31 convert also. Amazingly well made rifle, the bedding is superior to any mil-surp I have seen, the barrel is floated. Fit and finish is second to none, or maybe I have been in Lee Enfield land too long. Basically the same ballistics as a 7.62/.308. They have a great history. Damn bayonets cost half as much as the rifle. I picked this 1934 model up local for $200, couldn't be happier.

I'm glad I got the bug about 5 years ago, picked up my six for less than $80 ea.

id get one in a heart beat if i could find one local for less than 500 the only milsurp guy we have in delaware is also a rip off artist

any suggestions on ordering one to have shipped to an FFL?

i have become a big fan from the first k11 to the current k31 will buy more when a good deal comes around also i reload for mine

price has started to rise around here

It's an odd ball caliber, but an absolute tack driver!!
Yeah, but Prvi makes some good ammo for it at a reasonable price. I've been looking for one locally for a while now. I don't want to deal with the hassle and extra costs of going through GB or something, plus I like to be able to inspect what I'm getting. I got my fingers crossed for one by Christmas. :)

Dimis,

I ordered mine from Widener's. $195 for all matching serial numbers (again, I don't know if that is common or not for the K31), a rifle with beautiful hardware and furniture, sling, and troop ID (may or may not be in all rifles).

AIM surplus has K11's, J&G Sales has several K31's that are in the $300 range, and Samco Global has them around $250.

If you want to shoot it regularly, look for the swiss surplus ammo. It's called GP-11, and it's non-corrosive(!), brass cased(berden primed) and darn near match quality. It's currently about $.50/round, and it's worth easily twice that. It can be found pretty easily online.

EDIT: Hornady also loaded a hunting round for it for a while, it can still be found if you look around a bit.
