I am having trouble adjusting the front sight of my K31 for windage. I was able to move the front sight on my first K31 using a hammer and punch but my second K31 is stubborn.

The front sight just won't budge. I have soaked it in Kroil over the space of several days to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a stubborn K31 front sight to move?

yeah, try to warm it with some grease applied on it.

I had same problem with one of mine.

btw, keep in mind that a dedicated tool exist for this frontisght.

Is it staked hard in place? Try driving it opposite of the direction you are wanting to go, maybe all the way out then clean up dovetail where it was staked and re-insert and adjust. Maybe a little light heat on the area, then re-apply Kroil when it is warm. Don't turn the barrel red, if you don't know your way around a torch just skip it.

Go over to the Swiss Rifles Message board forum go to classified adds and a poster calling himself Gusian. He has "a mini shop" and you can often find a special sight mover listed for sale. He is in I think Holland, but service is quick and he is very repuatable. If you cannt find there go to the straight pull forum and post him a question about sight adjusters there.
