Hello all. So I just picked up first K31 yesterday, which I have to say is one of the coolest rifles in my collection but that's another point, anywho I went to shoot it at the range and its shooting consistently low. The range is only 50ft (I know this is not a real distance for this rifle but its still a little cold in chicagoland for the outdoor range yet). The rifle grouped perfectly (well I guess I shouldn't be too proud of good groups at 50ft but I'm getting off topic) so I was wondering if any of you other K31 owners out there had any ideas for me. The drop was about 3" low and directly centered. After about 30 rounds of this I started raising the rear site slide, and it would hit the point of aim when the site was set on 500. So am I just a really crappy shot or is there something I can do to change the elevation on the front sight? Thanks in advance.

id suggest you shoot outdoors. don't go messing with the gun until you shoot like it was meant to be shot.

that gp11 is going to do quite a number on that indoor range wall, btw.

The K-31 was not to be shot at distances of less then 100 meters. If you were getting good groups, just low then it is probably good to go.

Don't make any judgements or adjustments until you've shot it at 100 yds or greater. You'll continue to be impressed with the gun. I can almost guarantee it.

If it was made a good peep sight like on the Garand, it'd be hands down the perfect bolt action milsurp.

50 feet? That is waaaaay too close to be concerned about shooting low. Return the sights to where they were before you started fiddling with them (you did make note of your adjustments, right? Ask me how I learned to do this :D ) and wait until you can get to an outdoor range measured in yards or meters and has three digits to the left of the decimal place before you start to worry.

Seriously. I bet the rifle and sights are fine.

Mike :)

I'd have to agree with all of the posts regarding waiting till you get outside.

I would suggest taking it up to the range in Bristol, WI. I just joined that range this year. Firing points at 50-100-200 yds with very helpful and knowledgeable range personell.

I also just picked up a new K31 from a local dealer (I live in Lake In The Hills)

I'll be taking mine out for the first time this weekend.

Pat
