normal for this military rifle

stock chewed up/dinged & gouged; bluing about 80%, metal and lock work virtually perfect--3 years ago was $175 and today +350. becoming scarcer around my local and quality is dropping below that which i would buy.

i bought a beaut from allans armory in june for 170$. he shows pics and grades then. then, he discussed the butt stock conditions as apparently they spent a lot of time stacked in the snow by troops. this one has a troop iD card under the butt plate. its beech. allan is a pleasure to deal with and it came with sling. he ships most guns in a hard case for 10$ extra. don't think the swess used corrosive ammo, either...but may be wrong on that. samco has some. search the web and they pop up.

Swiss as in Switzerland.
not swess as in Sweden!

you can call us anything you want, but not Swedish! :p

and no, Genuin 7.5x55mm Swiss aka GP11 is not corrosive.

that was only a minor typo

Yeah, well, remember, the average Swiss has had to hear Americans confuse Switzerland with Sweden about 579 times in their lifetime.

Not that I would ever confuse them... the Swiss haven't been in a foreign war since 1815. The Swedes have made it since 1814. See the difference?

no, Americans generaly know about Switzerland, "the Place with the bankaccounts, right?", thank you Hollywood.

it is mainly South America, African and middle eastern countrys that confuse the two countrys, often by yelling "blonds!" and forming two enourmous cups in front of there chest.. oh the stereotyps.

This was a thread on K31 rifles I think. Start a thread on Swiss National Pride if you like. Please respect the intent of this thread. Thx:)

consider Switzerland our brothers in arms, and the last of Europe's gun cultures. we should support the Swiss NRA (whos name escapes me at the moment)

that said. k31 at 250 seems OK . sure you can find one cheaper, but you you have one in hand that you can inspect, its better than any mail order rifle.

That would be proTELL. I understand that they're more of a pro-gun political group than the giant shooting organization that the NRA is though.

Finland also apparently has a very strong gun culture. Along with the US and Israel, the thing all of them have in common was a historical reliance on the common citizen to defend the country.

$225-300

Or whatever you are happy spending.

A friend of mine recently paid $375, but it was in excellent condition, and for $375 you won't find a better built rifle on this planet. Today that rifle would probably cost $1500 to build.

here in Switzerland they go from 80 to 200 $ (without diopter) so i think US prices are fair.

tomorrow I'll put 60 rounds through my oldest one (my grand dads one actually). I really enjoy shooting it lately. more than my ARs or SIG550-

Got my first 3 1/2 years ago at a gun show, $139, and it has a stock so pretty as to put some high grade custom stock too shame. It ignited an interest so I got a C&R license and promptyl got 5 more, all in the $70-80 range.

Sometimes, it doesn't cost anything. :D And if you have a cool father it can go from a tabletop...........
