Sorry if this is a duplicate threat, but I did a quick search and couldn't find the answers. First, how does the K31 straight pull action work? Mainly since the bolt handle doesn't turn, how does the bolt lock? Secondly, why is the firing have a ring on the end? My guess would be to recock it if the round doesn't fire without having to we work the action thus ejecting that cartridge. Any other info or pics of the K31 would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The firing pin has a ring for recocking but also to engage the safety. pull the ring back and turn it 90 degress to the right and the gun is in safe mode.

And the bolt locks/unlocks via camming action. When it's shoved forward, lugs on the bolt travel in grooves in the receiver like most rifles, but when it approaches the battery position the grooves twist and the bolt cams into the locked position. It works very well and is a remarkably fast action. I have two K31's. You should have one too!
