Hi
California is moving along, and we actually have some 45's available from Kahr:
KP4543 / Stainless Steel, Polymer Pistol 3.5" .45 ACP 2/6/2013
KP4543N / Stainless Steel, Polymer Pistol 3.5" .45 ACP 2/6/2013
KP4544 / Stainless Steel, Polymer Pistol 3.5" .45 ACP 9/6/2012

Has anyone shot, carried, have comments on these?

It appears to be just 4 oz heavier then the PM9, and not much bigger.

If you are an owner, what ammo did you pick?

Rich, which Kahr did you have?

Thanks
P

I've had two Kahrs in .45, a P45 and a TP45. Either one is very lightweight and slim. I found both more than accurate enough. My only real complaint was that I couldn't shoot either very quickly , especially with any +P ammo. The recoil was more than I wanted to deal with. That said, as I age and my shoulder has turned too tender to enjoy the Kahr, most normal folks would have little trouble.

My dream Kahr was to cut the TP45 grip down to the P45 size, giving me a smaller yet nice sized grip on a gun with a 4" barrel. Looks good on paper.

I have a CW45 (KP4543). I also have a CW40 (a couple of oz lighter than the 45), which has replaced the S&W 340 as my pocket carry gun. Most folks find it hard to get used to the long trigger pull on the Kahr -- I actually like it and shoot the CWs better than the 340.

I bought my CW45 from Davidsons -- galleryofguns.com. They are a bit higher in price, but have a lifetime replacement/repair warranty (replace if in stock, repair if not) which they honor without question.

I couldn't get the first CW45 to function 100%, so after 600 plus rounds, my dealer contacted Davidson's and a replacement gun arrived the next day. The replacement has been working just fine.

The CW40 has had only 1 FTF (during the initial 200 round break in period), and has worked 100% ever since (over 800 rnds).

I bought the CW45 as a practice gun for my CW40 -- I don't load 40S&W, but have a Dillon SDB dedicated to .45 ACP.

The CWs are two of my favorite semi-autos. For me, the CW45 is amazingly easy and comfortable to shoot. If you have large hands, YMMV.

Jeff Quinn - Gunblast reviewed the P45 and the
CW45.

There is also a Kahrtalk Forum that has a specific P & CW Sub-Forum:

Bought a CW45 about 3 mos. ago...So far about 700 flawless rounds thru it...I like it a lot...Smooth and accurate...Definitely a keeper...

All I can say is get on the wrist exercises now! I've had a pm and cw 45. Both were easily limp wristed, especially when new. Both were very accurate. Both were quite a workout at the range, if you want to put a high round count down range. Neither of mine balked on any specific kind of ammo.
