So Im new to the CW40 but hoping that some people have teh experience to tell me what load has been found to first function well, second shoot accurately, and third be easy on the hand in such a small frame gun?

I read that with the 9mm version the factory set the sites to a certain grain bullet, so what were the 40s set for? I dont really like going below 155 grains for penetration and velocity but Id imagine that some 135s would be pretty easy to shoot and could be good for some practice/break in ammo. Anyone have some impressions of the different loads?

And secondly Im a big believer in night sights on a carry gun and LOVE TruGlos TFOs but im seeing people have issues saying they cant changing the front sight on the CW series pistols. Is this reality or have no products just come out for the front site, or will it just take a good gun smith to make the change?

Thanks for the help everybody!

I have

never seen any nite sites on the cw series, do to the pined front site. I have read where some have spent good bucks to have the front site dovetailed to accept nite sites, but if you were going to do that you should have bought he PM series or P series.

You have a darn nice cw40, just shoot it like you stole it. Not sure nite sites is all that important to have either, more of a "I got nite sites on my kahr" talking point..

supposably

the kahr 9mm are shot in with 124 grain. have no clue what the 40 cal is. You cold give kahr a calland run that buy them. wold beinteresting to know.

trust me on the no nite sites for the cw series (yet).

still a great gun, they had to do somethings to make one step up the PM40 series or they would gather dust on dealer shelves...

Changing the sights on the CW40 is not an option. As far as what ammo used, I have read that 180 grain did best in the CW40. I have had mine for a while now and this is what I use (1k rounds and counting).

I just bought a CW40 and had read alot of issues with jamming on intial breakin. So far, 150-200 rounds i have no issues. I have been using the 180 grain FMJ blazers and American Eagle. I will say that I am very disappoointed in the accuracy so far. The gun seems to shhot low and all over the place at 50 feet. I bought this for ccw purposes so I don't really anticipate the need to shoot at that distance but I was disappointed after reading reviews which indicated accuracy and trigger pull was good. Could it be the ammo? Any recomendations?
Thanks.

more rounds down ragne will also help. Kahr trigers are loooooong and very smooth. takes some roundss to ge tused to and 40 cal is a snappy gun to. If you had some snap caps on 40 cal and mixed them in your magazine when loading, it jwillsure show you shooting errors.

I use them all the time as a test to keep me honest and many times I find myself almost breaking the damn trigger, I jerked it so bad but with a live round you don't realize it but with a dummy round somewhere in ur magazine, it will keep you honest. Try it, then amybe you will realize the gun shoots where u aim and finally pull the trigger.

karhs are very accurate, try pracrticing at 12 yards and under also and see how it goes. Low shots are very indicative of jerking the trigger.

Nice gun though, jsut shoot it like u stole it and it will come to you....

I have tried a few different loads in my CW40. I prefer 180gr Hornady TAP's, I get decent groups with a manageable amount of recoil. On the downside, they are a bit pricey for target practice.
