I recently handled one and it felt OK. Does this pistol have any glaring faults or issues?

Great guns. Just be aware that Kahr recommends a 200 round break in period. Also, you can't put night sites on the CW series as the front sight is not dovetailed. In fact the sight mounting and less machining are the real difference between the CW9 and the P9 and the price difference between them...

My had to go back to Kahr after less than half a box. Been great since its return -- well over 2000 rounds thru it. I shoot a box thru it every time out as practice for the PM40 I carry. Usually get 800-1000 rounds before lack of cleaning causes failures to go fully into battery. Figure its paid for itself in ammo savings of shooting 9mm vs .40S&W in the ~2.5 years I've had it.

Only down sides are its a bit bigger than the much more expensive PM series guns and you give up the easy addition of night sights (I've night sights on my PM40, but don't need them on the CW9).

Recommend a small auto rubber sleeve grip, and either a pearce grip extension for the 7rd mag or the 8rd mags with the factory grip extension.

Great gun, love the size, weight, and feel of the grip. Put on a Arma Laser, therefore, do not need night sights.

I generally prefer my wheelies, however, the CW9 has proven to be very reliable and accurate.

Haven't shot mine much but so far it's been 100%. Accurate too--about 4.5" five shot groups at 25 yards.

I really like mine, and its really concealable compared to many other compact 9mms out their, many cause its not double stacked. The price is what got me the most on the gun. If you go to Kahr.com, I got the agrips to go on the poly frame and that makes a huge difference on the grip. Awsome gun all around.

I'm looking at maybe getting one of these as well, the size is nice and the price is certainly right.

How's the trigger? Light or heavy, is it at least a consistent pull? I'll check it out a bit at the store, but it'll be a little bit before I'm back in there. Just asking as I handled a Taurus 24/7 today, and the SA/DA thing was...odd to me. In SA it was light and all, but full of creep. Least, I think creep is the right term. Had to pull the trigger quite a ways before any real resistance was met. I'd rather have some resistance for the whole length of pull, myself, so DAO would be better. Same with always having the same pull, from first shot to last.
Also, any aftermarket mags for these that go for les than $40 that are worth buying? Found some ProMags, but I know little about them.

Pull is consistent. It's not a hindrance to accurate shooting--I find it to be more than acceptable. It's very much like a light**, short**, DA revolver pull.

I'm not really a Promag fan. If you want cheaper magazines than factory you'd be better served looking for a gun with cheaper factory magazines, IMO. The exception would be magazines from OEM suppliers--but then those are factory too, in one sense.

**In comparison to a typical DA revolver pull.

Thanks, that's actually precisely the sort of thing I'm looking for. As for the mags, I can live with $40 each if that's all there is or if that's what it takes for reliability. Just wondering if there's other options like there are with a few other types of guns. It seems that most of the guns I'm drawn too, even when the gun is fairly inexpensive, take expensive mags. Oh well, just means I'll acquire them a little slower. :)

There are a couple of places on-line that sell the Kahr mags for about $30.

I've never had much luck with ProMags but the Promags I have for my CW9 have worked perfectly. Got these from MidWay for about $19 each.

kahr mags

pay the difference and buy kahr mags. you won't regret it..Not like you are buying a 100 of them either..

I was looking to buy 7 of them so I could have 50 rounds pre-loaded when I go to the range -- stuffing mags in 95+ degree heat is not my idea of fun. Once my first ProMag at less than half the cost of the Kahr worked 100% I got 6 more. I'd since found the places (http://www.ivanhoeoutlet.com/ & http://www.shootersmart.com/site/) that discount the Kahr mags and got a spare for my PM40.

For carry, no debate from me, get the Kahr mags, but if you want lots of mags for the range try one of the ProMags for your CW9. Note that Midways reviews were good for the 9 and bad for the .40 ProMag Kahr mags.
