I bought a slightly used Kahr K-9 a couple of months ago, and I absolutely love it. One thing really irritates me though. With both of the used magazines that came with the pistol, and a new 8 rounder that I purchased, the rounds fall out of the magazine unless inserted into the pistol or in a very tight mag carrier. Last week I called Kahr tech support about it and they advised me that that was a common problem with their older magazine followers. They sent me three new followers, which are no different than the old ones as far as I can tell. I installed them the rounds still work their way out of the magazine when carried in a pocket or a slightly loose carrier.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

They're probably working the way they are designed. In 6 months of carrying the PM-9 and a spare mag in another pocket I've only actually had rounds pop out one time. I think it helps to make sure there's nothing else in the pocket. Also, I have noticed the tendency you're talking about, but I do believe it's part of the design (helps the rounds feed from mag to ramp to chamber easier). Try a tight mag carrier or a very loose pocket like on a light jacket (what I've done most of the time). Carpenter pockets found on jeans and some khakis work well too.

Talk to Kahr again. I bought an old (1996 manufacture) Kahr and the magazines would do the same thing. I sent it and the magazines into Kahr for some other work and they replaced all the magazines. The new ones work fine.

I'm confused...

" the rounds (plural here) fall out"...If the spare mag is inverted and the 'rounds fall out', that would seem to indicate that either the follower is too wide, the mag tube is too small, or there is not enough mag spring pressure to push the ammunition stack up. Either way, something ain't right.

Kahr said that was normal?

I dunno, maybe I need another cup of coffee to help understand.
