I recently had a dream involving Kahrs. I came into contact with a group of mobsters/gangsters who were all carrying Kahrs, K series and P series. I too was carry my K9. Well the SHTF and it turned into a gun fight. Only problem was the Kahr trigger was so long and heavy I couldn't pull it. I'd get about halfway through the squeeze and get stuck. I was able to run to another room and get a 1911 and make it out alive.

Maybe its my subconscience telling me to sell the Kahrs.

You laugh.

Just imagine having a perfect sight picture and you can't pull the trigger. Its unnerving I tell you.

Maybe its my subconscience telling me to sell the Kahrs.

Or maybe you should have passed on the Italian buffet right before bed. Seriously, I would exercise caution before making any decisions based upon a dream.

Thats strange....I have had the same type of dreams....

Trigger is too heavy to pull, or the bullets don't do any damage, or I just can't hit very hard..

Strange I tell ya...

Sounds like you need to exercise your trigger finger! :neener:

Seriously, I have had dreams like that and they do influence how you look at guns. I think that is why I avoid guns with really long and heavy triggers (Makarovs) and guns with too many safeties (1911s) for self defense. I like my Kahr K-9 because it has no safeties for me to forget and the trigger is light and smooth even though it is a bit long.

Bottom line, there are enough guns out there that you can choose whatever makes you happy. If you like 1911s, carry that. There is no one best gun for everyone.

What would Freud say....

Is it the heavy trigger or lack of "firing" that's the problem. Freud would turn this around and say your having a problem with another gun, the biological one.

Also, it's stated that you can only do things that you have actually experienced in your life. Therefore, if you've never shot anyone, even though your mind's eye can see/do it, you're subconscious does not reportedly work that way and will not allow you to do such. Arm chair psycho babble here, I have no qualifications, and I didn't sleep at a holiday inn express last night.

Is the Kahr trigger function fine to you? Or does your sub-conscious just prefer the 1911? Either way, go with your subconscious, it's telling you something. But examine it carefully, it is just a dream. Now if it was a glock you ran too, well, that would be a different matter and say something else all together...lol.

So you plan on becoming...

A used Kahr salesman?

I had a dream a few months ago that someone pointed a shotgun/rifle (it was a dream, didn't remember that detail) into my windshield while my wife and I were getting into the car. I drew and fired, missing. Other fellow and I danced around the car, firing and missing for what seemed forever. I don't recall reloading during the dream, but fired far more ammo than I carry (15 rds). I woke up before anybody connected.

Not a dream . . .

I use to have an MK9 for CCW. At the time I didn't hve an appropriate holster for it, so I carried front pocket condition 3 (empty chamber). At night I'd sleep with the MK9 on the nightstand. One night I woke up to a really weird sound, so I picked up the MK9 and tried to rack the slide BUT I COULDN'T. I wasn't awake enough yet, and didn't have the hand strength. The noise turned out to be nothing, but I wasn't happy about not being able to function the MK9 under predictable circumstances.

I sold it the next day.

I have no problem actually shooting the Kahrs. I'm not nearly as accurate with the Kahr as a 1911 but the mechanics of shooting it are no problem.

On of my 1911s is the Kimber Compact so its light enough to hold;)
