100 rounds Remington 95 gr. FMJ

I experienced one failure to eject due to a squib load. barely went pop.

I experienced 5 Premature slide locks, this as I later discovered is due to the rounds in the magazine contacting the slide lock lever. I dont consider this to be of great concern, as I will contact Kahr and recieve a new slide lock. This was immediately resolved by depressing the slide lock.

I also encountered one round that was actually bent at the center of the case and would not enter the chamber.

The pistol was unbeleivably accurate. This is not an understatement.

The fit and finish of this weapon is Swiss watch like.

The pistol tore through 100 rounds without any FTF (aside from malformed case) or FTE's (aside from squib load).

I also found in an earlier session that this pistol will feed even the most wide mouthed of hollowpoints flawlessly. Surprisingly it will also feed and eject entire cartridges of all types.

Pros: Unrealistic accuracy, flawless feeding, very controlable, very little perceived recoil, butter smooth trigger, unparalleled concealability, one piece steel guide rod, fit and finish bar none.

Cons: Premature slide lock, magazine cost, around $40.00.

Overall this pistol is superb, I view it as the best of the 380 crop. One must remember to follow instructions and use the slide lock to chamber the first round, and you should be equally pleased with this fine little pocket rocket.

Thanks for the nice review. I'm always on the edge of buying one. But, at around $700 without night sights and just one magazine for a .380 when you can get a Kel-Tec for less than half that, I dunno.

Kahr's are excellent guns! BruiseLee - try out a TCP738 - i'll be surprised if you don't like it. I'm with you on the 700.00 pea shooter - just more than i can justify.

Sounds like you might need a new slide lock. Keep in mind that kahrs are notorious for being malfunction prone in the first 100-200 rounds. They are just wound so tight that it takes a while to get them broken in. Once they are broken in they are flawless. My PM9 is awesome, now I want a CW9 and P380.

If you look around you can find the magazines for about $30 on some websites.

jbr, $700 might be the msrp, but I routinely see them on sale for $500-550 in my LGS.

You're getting jacked if you pay $700.00

Generally pleased with mine, tho' it did have some teething problems that now seem settled. The gun is blessed with great sights and trigger.
Unintended slide stop engagements were the main difficulty, which was not solved by shortening/polishing the slide stop finger. I replaced the slide stop spring, some sort of pretty common weirdness with Kahrs, and the problem went away.
I had a few stovepipes that seem to have been resolved by some rounds down range, and by stoning away a sharp spot or two around the ejection port.
I prefer it ergonomically and esthetically to my previous EDC, a Ruger LCP. However, the Ruger worked from the first magazine, no apologies or explanations required.

150 more 95 gr. remington FMJ's rounds downrange today, no problems whatsoever, I am still utterly amazed at the accuracy that one can achieve with this little pistol. I paid 475.00 USD for the weapon, with two magazines. Please dont take my critique of some of the issues as "not a great gun." I try and be brutally honest when reviewing a firearm. I have been carrying it daily since the initial range report with no reservations. Kel Tec, Taurus and Ruger, are fine weapons, but not even in the same ballpark as the Kahr. It is without question the finest 380 on the market.

Is the TCP738 the Taurus 380? If so, you can't get it where I live in California. It needs to have a magazine disconnect and a chamber loaded indicator. Plus, the manufacturer has to pay a fee to have every version of the gun safety tested.

I can actually get the Kahr for about $640 out the door if I get it from a local FFL guy. But, with the night sights, it's well over $700.

Not exactly a steal.

I paid $600 with night sights. It can be had without night sights around here for 530ish

Yes as I stated, the new, in the box weapons are actually selling around 540.00, w/o night sights, and the used, for around 450- 480.00. I feel this is a fair price in contrast to the workmanship. Couldn't be happier with mine, she stays in my front pants pocket daily now.
