Hey guys Im new to THR but pretty experienced with guns. Anyways I just got a new kahr pm9 and I polished the slide, trigger job, polished the throat, radiused and polished the trigger, and radiused and polished the slide stop lever... BUT I got some night sites for it and I cannot get the factory ones off for the freakin life of me. So anyone have any tips or pointers? I've been trying to back them out the one way they come out if that makes sense.
I've even tried using my glock site adjuster but no luck. They wont budge.
Any help is appreciated... thanks ahead of time.

You just discovered a little Kahr "joke".

The early Kahr pistols had a problem with loose sights.
Some were so loose, the owner opened the box to find the sight had fallen out of the dovetail during shipping.

So.... Kahr fixed the problem. They REALLY FIXED the problem.
They got a giant vise-like sight pusher to press over-sized sights in.
This King Kong machine puts sights in so tight, some gunsmiths have had to actually CUT them out.

Most sight tools simply aren't powerful enough to budge them, and if you try driving them out with a brass punch, the punch usually deforms the sight and locks it even tighter in place. (If the punch doesn't slip off the angled surfaces of the sights and scar up the slide).

Due to the high risk of damaging something, or damaging the night sight vials as you try to get them in, I strongly recommend sending the slide and sights to Kahr and have them press the old ones out and the new ones in.
They'll do it right with no damage to the slide or the new sights.

All you have to send is just the slide so you can ship it UPS or FedEx fast without it costing too much.

No BS, this is one of those times you let the Pros do it. They have the machine.
Try it on your own and you'll likely tear it up or damage an expensive set of night sights.

I'll be darned. I'll remember that in case I decide to switch to night sights. You can't say they didn't fix it, at least. ;)

Well I emailed kahr and theres a problem... they will only install them if they were purchased from kahr. Back to the drawing board.

What type of sights did you buy - perhaps someone on here is looking for a set and you could off load them and you could then purchase from Kahr and have them install!

Theyre trijicon tritium ns. Probably will give it some more tries or take it over to the dealer I bought it from. Theyre family run with 2 gunsmiths. Ill see what they think before I consider selling...nice try though...;)

What did you use to polish the various parts with? Just asking because I'm interested in doing it to mine!
