I finally had the opportunity to take my PM9 for a spin at the local indoor range last night. I fired just over 250 rounds of various FMJ. No failures of any kind. Recoil was brisk, but not uncomfortable. I was expecting it to be much worse. I won't comment on accuracy as I'm very out of practice. :(
There's a lot to like about this gun. The size to firepower ratio is amazing. I have no problem concealing it in a front pocket holster. Rapid follow-up shots are easy with a firm grip. It shoots to the point of aim at 15 yards. External finish is up to par with other guns in the same price range.
Things that I don't care for include incredible muzzle flash. I suppose I can expect no less with a 3" barrel. Also, my specimen exhibits the moulding voids in the dust cover similar to what others have noted. I examined three other guns at the shop, and they also had the voids. Oh well. I might care more when the new gun euphoria wears off.;)

I have had my PM9 for over a month now, and it is probably the best pocket pistol I have ever laid my hands on. I haven't put 250 rounds through it yet, but your report is good news.

Congrats on your purchase. Don't worry about the flash. Most premium ammunition will have significantly less flash than your el-cheapo FMJ target ammo. I know that doesn't help for target practice, but it won't blind you if you ever NEED your baby Kahr.

Congratulations. Like stated above the muzzle flash with defense ammo will be minimal. My first outing with my PM-9 I used some UMC ammo, I had flames shooting out in all directions. I have since shot plenty of +P Gold Dots, Golden Sabers and Federal EFMJ though my PM-9. These ammo's produced much less muzzle flash, even though recoil is greater.

It's a shame about the molding voids, mine has them too. Those voids are my only gripes with my Kahr so far.

Moulding voids :what: Sounds like something to do with poor personal hygene...what are they?

poor personal hygene
:scrutiny: Whatcha talkin' 'bout ?

Here's a picture of my Kahr frame.

The voids on my gun are actually much worse than those pictured. They are in the same spot, but run the entire length of the slide rail. I have no doubt that it's purely a cosmetic defect. I will probably petition Kahr for a replacement frame at some point in the future. Maybe after a couple thousand more rounds. :D

I've heard rumors that all P series Kahrs have the Elite trigger. I emailed Kahr and asked a while ago, but got no response. Can anyone verify if it is true?

Oh and by the way, both my PM9 and myself practice high levels of personal hygene.;)

I've heard the same thing about the PM-9's having the Elite trigger. I don't remember from where I heard it and I don't know if it's fact.

If you get an email back from Kahr regarding the trigger, let us know.

I called Kahr, talked to a gunsmith.
He verified that all polymer guns have the Elite trigger.

I've only got around 250 rds. through mine.
Because of weather, holidays, etc., I haven't been to the range in at least 6 weeks.

I'm very pleased with mine.
I can keep all shots in the 10 ring from 12 feet, without really trying.
I'm sure that my accuracy will improve as I shoot it more.
I was getting 2" groups from 9 yards with my MK9 before I traded it.

I've never had a 9mm that I could carry in the front pocket of a pair of jeans before.

mini14jac,
Thank you for verifying that fact. I'm surprised that Kahr doesn't hype it in their literature.

Muzzle flash is a function of the ammo. I used to use 124 gr. Hydrashoks in my MK9. Huge muzzle flash. Changed to 115 gr +P+ Remington green box (not Golden Saber). Much reduced flash.
