I was shooting a friend's Kahr 9mm yesterday, not sure of the model. First three rounds were good then I couldn't see any hits on the target. Another friend to my side stopped me and said something didn't look right. The slide was in battery, but the end of the recoil spring guide was sticking out. I cleared the pistol and took the slide stop out but the slide would not come off the frame. Got the stop back in and that's where we left it. I feel bad, but all I did was load and fire.
Is this a known problem with Kahrs? Did my friend (the owner) assemble something incorrectly?

Your friend assembled it with the recoil spring backwards. He'll have to bang the slide off the frame or send it back to Kahr to fix.

Pull the trigger then the slide should come off. Please make sure its pointed in a safe direction prior to pulling the trigger. I had the same problem with my P45. If the slide isn't going into full battery (Going all the way forward), it may be because its not broke in yet. Kahr's have a break in period. Mine started doing it after 500rds. I sent Kahr an email & they sent me a new recoil spring free of charge. Haven't had a problem yet.

Oops!! Read the thread wrong. Recoil spring is possibly in backwards like ^^^^^^^ said. Sorry
