I was thinking last night about the Kahr lineup. I had a K40 years back and loved it other than the weight. More recently I owned a P45 and loved the weight but didn't like the shoddy looking panel on the right side of the grip. So I started wondering why they never made an aluminum framed gun. I prefer metal guns these days and I think an "aluminum A9" would trump the K9 and P9 for carry. What do you guys think?

I've got a MK9 and your right it is heavy, but I really like this little gun. It is very accurate for only haveing a 3"bbl. Was at the range and put 9/12rds in the head area of my target compared to 10/10 with my Kimber 4 1/4"bbl at 15yds. But the Kimber is to large to carry for me unless I wearing a heavy shirt.

MK9

lots of kahr owners love the MK series line of kahrs, heavy yes, compared to a P series or PM series but never the less it is what it is, one hell of a fine made semi. I love my K9, heavy compared to any other metal handgun , certainly no more and normally liter than most all semi all steel version.

The PM series to me though is my favorite. ultra lite, still very controllable and extremely well made and a 14 ounce PM9 (kahrs weight stats) just dissapears in my front pocket.

IMO the entire kahr line is one of the best over all lines of ccw handguns on the market. Not cheap but neither is life..

That side panel on my PM9 has never given me one issue ever and I have 16,100 rounds through my PM9...

I currently own a K40 and agree, seems heavy but found some interesting facts K40 - 26 oz SP101 - 25 - 27 oz [ depends on barrel length] S&W mod 60 - 24 oz Kimber ultra - 25oz Kimber Eclipse Ultra - 31 oz started thinking maybe it feels so heavy because my P40 weights so little but I put that K40 in a good belt holster and the weight is not that bad.

True

Guys I wasn't dogging the Kahrs at all. I have owed a few and talked a couple friends into buying them. I just think a alloy frames K9 or K40 would be the best of both worlds at say 19-20g.

Poly Kahr's are junk. As a previous owner of 2 of them, I can testify.

If you absolutely must have a Kahr, a metal frame is the only one to have.

anteater

so now ur an authority on poly kahrs. very good to know. Gun industry needs people like you. damn funny my junk PM9 has 16,100 rounds thorugh it and it has never given one issue.

Maybe u are just not mature enough to own a kahr???

There does seem to be an anti-Kahr crowd out there... for whatever reason. I love my PM9 and wouldn't trade it for any other compact 9mm out there. When you consider more than "the bigger the better", the PM series is second to none. IMO of course.
