Spent some time at my local gun shop today checking out small DAO auto pistols. He did not have a PM9 in stock but had the slightly larger CW40. Handled and dry fired the Kahr, Ruger LC9 and LCP, Kel Tec PF9 and P3AT, S&W Bodyguard .380. I found the trigger of the Kahr much better than any of the others. Is the trigger pull of the PM series guns the same as the CW?
The Ruger LC9 had the look and feel of a well designed and built piece but the trigger pull left much to be desired, perhaps I could get used to it. The Kel Tec guns were cheaper than the others but looked and felt poorly made. The Bodyguard had the hardest trigger pull of all but seems to be put together well.
Dealer offered to order me a PM9 at a very fair price but of course still quite a bit more than the Ruger. Anyone actually own/fired both of these guns? Confirm that the trigger pull of the PM is nice and smooth like the CW? Is the Kahr worth the premium over the Ruger?

Thanks

Haven't shot the Kahr PM series, but Kahrs are all known for having outstanding triggers.
My K40 has a VERY nice smooth trigger.

Edit to add:
Use the search feature here on THR to find reviews of the Kahr PM series guns.
I think you'll see that people who own them are generally speaking, very happy.

Kahr's CM9 just started shipping to dealers. It's the same size as the PM9, only less expensive. It's worth a look.

Exact same triggers on the CW's and PM's.....They are gooood aren't they.

And +1 for CM9 if cash is tight, it did just come so prices will come down in the next few weeks.

Get the KAHR, you'll be glad.

I have 3 Kahrs and yes, all the Kahr triggers are the same except some premium models have a slightly shortened trigger pull. That mod can be done by Kahr for a reasonable price. I find the stock regular trigger to be
about perfect.

My opinion is that Kahr produces the highest quality pistol in the world today.

I've never had a failure with a Kahr nor Glock. I have a discontinued Kahr E9 and swear to God, it shoots better than my Sig X5. (i will admit that the X5 is an outstanding and beautiful piece of work - and is a legitimate tack driver, but so is my E9).

There apparently was a problem with the plastic 40 caliber Kahr models.
I believe the CW40. Other than that, they have been great.

I can only echo what the others have said. I own 2 Kahrs. A CW9 and a CW45. Great triggers, very reliable and easily concealed. I went to the LGS today to see if he had a CM9 in. He did not. It will be my next carry gun.

All Kahrs have the exact same trigger except for some of the K9 line, which have a slightly longer length of pull.

The PM9 has a good reputation. The brand new CM9 is basically the same gun but has a few less features than the PM9, for a few less dollars.

Do you mind if I ask you what price he quoted you on the PM9?

The trigger you felt on the CW40 would be the same exact trigger on the PM9 or the CM9 for that matter. I personally opted for the CW9 over the P9 because of the price difference and I didn't feel the extras on the P9 were worth it TO ME.

Differences between PM9 (P9) and CM9 (CW9):

CM9

Conventional rifling
Pinned front sight
MIM slide stop lever
Engraving on the slide
One magazine
Fewer machining operations on the slide exterior (this does not mean a rough exterior, look at there website for the difference)

PM9

Polygonal rifling
Drift adjustable front sight
Machined slide stop lever
Rollmarking on the slide
Two magazines

Here it tells you about the CM9 and the differences between it and the PM9. However if your guy is offering you a really good price on the PM9 it might be worth it. There is usually about a $200 difference, but have heard lately that some dealers are offering good prices on the PM9.

Price given is about 150 bux off MSRP. Still quite a premium over the Ruger but I'm leaning that way just for the trigger. Too bad Ruger did not go with a striker fired design. the DAO hammer felt like a DA revolver pull, long and progressively harder but did seem to break clean at the end. The Kahr trigger was also long but resistance was constant throughout the stoke. Just felt better to me.

All the Kahr's have the same trigger which has the feel of a light and smooth DA revolver trigger.

The trigger was different but nice on the CW40 and cw9 that I shot

I likes the size so much of the kahrs that I just bought a K9
