I received my Kart EZ fit 9mm barrel today and have it mostly fit, goes into battery, locks up tight and bushing is in good shape. My question is the lower lugs. It seems one side is making more contact with the slide stop pin than the other (vertical part of the lower lug not the horizontal). I have 0.003" clearance on either side of the barrel hood and the rear of the barrel hood is tight to breach face i.e. can't fit the 0.003" gauge in between. The slid stop pin shows a wear pattern of one side heavier than the other from the factory fit barrel (same side as the EZ fit). I've taken about all I can/want to off the upper lug pads. I'm just wondering why there is a difference between sides on the lower lug? Since the factory barrel shows this anisotrophy, could it be something in the slide? The pistol is a SA 1911 38 Super if that helps.

I think it is more likely the hole in the frame is crooked. Or one frame rail is higher then the other.

I'd just fit the lugs to the pin even if you have to cut one slightly more then the other.

I haven't run into it that much, or at least noticed it, because I use a carbide lug cutter through the frame hole, and it takes care of any misalignment automatically.
