With the rifle there were several boxes of .30-40 blank cartridges. Like you I was interested in seeing how well the side box magazine worked. So I loaded up some wax bullets and placed them in the magazine. To my amazement they cycled perfectly every time we loaded them up and with that slick bolt action, those 5 rounds sure went fast!
