I have Blackhawk # 4 pocket holster, and sometimes when I draw my pocket 9mm auto, the pocket holster stays "attached" to the pistol instead of staying in place in my pocket.

Other than buying another pocket holster, do you have any tips or ideas to keep my pocket holster in its proper place when I draw my pocket 9mm auto?

Thanks .........

I could never get used to drawing from a pocket holster either. Instead of buying all new pants/jeans I switched to IWB with my pm9 lol.

I sew on a button on the outside of holster. Then cut a button slit and reinforce it so the the holster stays firmly in place until I want to remove it. Well I used to do that. Don't have my kel-tec anymore.

My revolver stays in the proper position in my pocket, but the Nemesis it sits i never comes out when I take it out. Maybe it is the fact i am wearing cargo shorts with fairly loose pockets compared to someone wearing Wranglers or similar; otherwise, is it the right size holster for your gun?

Run a bead of silicone bathtub caulk around the holster, thin it with an icecream stick or some such and let it DRY COMPLETELY. Adds 'grabb-assity' to the holster.

Your best bet is to get a holster that is designed to stay in the pocket. some of them have a "tab" on the front-sight end that is intended to catch on cloth as the gun is withdrawn. If you have one made, you can ask the building to attach a thumb rest that lets you PUSH the holster as you draw with the holster, separating the two. (The thumb rest may be something you can add to your current holster, with a piece of leather, a piece of wood attached to the holster material with screws, etc.)

Try pushing it off the gun with your second finger as it comes out.

And a spritz of silicone spray inside the holster might help make it slicker.

Never had any problem with my Kel Tec P-11 and the Uncle Mike's Sidekick pocket holster...it always "grab" inside the pocket when I test draw...never failed to do that....

Coming up with the gun is exactly what you don't want. It either doesn't have enough friction on the outside to grab the pocket material, has too much friction on the inside (i.e., fits the gun too tightly), or requires some extra step (pressing against your leg, pulling backwards and hooking on a pocket edge, etc.) that you aren't performing. Any or all of these indicate it is poorly designed or not compatible with your gun.
