My son Keigan and I went turkey hunting this morning with my buddy and his daughter. At first light we saw several birds fly down well away from us. I got a little nervous thinking we might get skunked. Alot of calling and pleading later several birds came into the feild we were in. We spotted 7 toms and several hens and a couple jakes. This tom came in running straight for my jake decoy. Anyway Keigan got the shot and knocked the bird down. He started to recover and tried to run. My buddy Matt finished him off. I wished we would of had a couple more shots but such is life. The bird had a 10 1/8" beard and 1 5/16" spurs

Yeah this is his first bird. He tried last year but we could not get the birds to commit close enough for a 20ga. He is getting to a cool age where he is big enough to do alot of things. His younger brother Caleb gets to hunt this year for the first time as well. Although Caleb has no experience with a shotgun. He has always been timid to shoot them. If you hand him a .22 or a .223 or the likes. Caleb will run you broke in ammo cost.
