Just saw one in a gunshop today for the first time and I was very impressed. They had 9mm and .40 models. I was interested in the .40 cal model because of the extra power. I was wondering if any of you have one of these guns and could give me an evaluation of it? It was selling at the gunshop for $335. At 29.5" long (when not folded) and 4 lbs unloaded it seems like a delightful trunk/car gun. I was wondering the following...
1. Some models come that accept glock mags, and some accept Beretta, which mag type would be better? Which brand of mags are cheaper/easier to get in .40S&W?
2. How much extra velocity will a 16" barrel give a .40S&W round?
3. Can you carry a gun such as this? This article seems to suggest you can,

4. Where is a god place to get fair priced glock .40 S&W mags? Are the mags in this auction fairly priced? Will they work? http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=10329357
Any personal experience with the gun would be greatly appreciated.
For those who don't know, a Kal Tec 2000 is a self-loading carbine for pistol cartridges. Different versions of the SUB-2000 will accept most modern handgun magazines. There is a GLOCK version. Further, the SUB-2000 has a greatly extended range compared to a handgun. The superior precision is also very useful against small or partially covered targets at shorter range. The amount of training to master the SUB-2000 is only a fraction of that required for a handgun.
