Kel-Tec disappointment

OK. Mine's a 2nd gen. It has the extractor like the top one in the pic. All I've shot in it have been cheap Russian ball and Speer Gold Dots.
Too bad they don't make it in 9x18 Mak.
Thanks for the info.

I have a PA3T and it keeps jamming - looks like the fired shell does not eject. Can I call Kel-Tec and have them fix it? Exactly what do they do?

I've had a P3AT a couple of years. It's had no malfunctions and no pain from shooting it.

This is a funny thread. I can remember when every other thread I saw was filled with people who had malfunctioning Kimbers. I guy I knew had three Kimbers and one of them was always being "repaired" by the factory.

Kel-Tec is a small company that's producing guns with many features that you won't find anywhere else. That is, unless the Kel-Tec design has been ripped off (Ruger).

The important thing to remember is that, if you get a gun that doesn't work, Kel-Tec will make it right.

2 first gen P3ats, PF9, P11 early modsel, 2 sub 2ks, a P40and a su 16.
1 sub 2k had a frame issue that was promply fixed by the factory.
All work well; no hippo lips here!
(traded the P40, it was a bear to shoot)

P-32 and PF-9 here, no problems with either.

Including friend's guns I have shot... add another half-dozen or so... one has had problems (P-32), fixed after a trip back to factory.

SUB-2000 is on my short list (KSG will be as well, if it ever comes out in volume).

I've had better luck w/ Kel-Tec than some far more expensive brands.

"WOW! Kel Tec seems to have more problems "

Not that many, they've just sold a lot of guns. Tiny guns are difficult for everyone to design and build. It's a fact of life and you can't argue with the physics of explsions in small containers with moving parts.

And they're inexpensive.

I have a Sub2000 that is VERY reliable.. It will shoot reloads without a seated primer, oversized bullets, and it does it with a cheapo korean mag.

I have a pf9 I bought a month ago and have had extraction issues. I tried fluff and buff, new extractor, and a new mag and finally had to send it in. I was told turnaround should be about 2 weeks because its less than 90 days old(they bump new guns over older ones).

My two Kel_Tecs have been very reliable as well, though I did have one incident of rimlock with my Gen-2 P32 while breaking it in (I was shooting ammunition with a short OAL-profile, and have since eliminated the issue with KT's rimlock spacer.)
I don't get the comments about car companies introducing flawless products more often than gun companies. Seems to me that recalls are issued for cars far more often. Heck, since they started making them mostly in the US, even Toyota is wrought with them!
But, yeah, for the price, I'd expect some risk in buying anything in this bracket level of firearm.
