A buddy brought one over this summer for playtime. It was brand damn new and stiff as hell. My old 870 outran it until it ran out. I did not like how close my hand was to the muzzle. For his sake I hope after some real testing it will loosen up.
Mine will not cycle reliably enough for defense, and I am stroking it with all my 6 foot 210 pound self can muster. It will be ok for 8-10 rounds, then stick. I can rack it again and sometimes force the offending shell in. I live close to them, so I will probably run it over to Cocoa and let them have a look.
It is so nice and compact that I really want it to work, like the ergonomics and size for a truck gun.
I placed a stop on the for-end to keep my hand from sliding forward, but it bruises the crap out of my hand under recoil. I don't like vertical grips, so don't know how/if I can address this issue. I know I'm not comfortable running it hard without something.
I have only put 80 rounds through it, those are my observations.
Just because I can, I'll post a favorite of mine, my High Standard Model 10B. I wish some mfg would come out with something like this. All you really need is a semi that doesn't have a spring in the buttstock.
Look up "Remington 1100 Sidewinder conversion". They were popular in the 80's with the survivalist crowd. Basically, you move the return spring from behind the receiver to around the magazine tube.
The High Standard Model 10 was a very futuristic design when it came out, though it reminds me of the FAMAS rifle.
