I just bought .32 Kel-Tec. Within five minutes the magazine release has stopped working, just slides side to side, and the mag is stuck. Common issue? How do I fix. I have yet to fire the %@% thing.
Don't sweat it, it sounds like the mag catch spring came loose. You can fix it yourself in just a few minutes. Is the pistol loaded? If so, you will need to find a way to get the ammo out.
Once you are sure it is unloaded, you want to remove the slide/barrel/recoil assembly per the field strip instructions in your manual. If you have trouble getting the slide off you may have to lock it back and work through the ejection port. Either way, look down through the frame and see if you can tell what might be holding the mag in place. Use a toll to move it if possible. With the mag button pushed in (or just staying in by itself) try and wiggle/pull the magazine free of the grip. The mag catch and mag catch spring may fall out the magwell at some point, so take that into account and try not to lose the parts.
