Someone please tell me how to replace the slide stop on my Kel-Tec P ll. The part is on the way. The piece that allows the empty mag to engage the slide stop after the last round has been fired broke off. The gun is still functional, but the slide does not remain open after the last shot is fired. I know I could send the gun back to Kel-Tec for warranty repair, but the cost of shipping for a handgun is about $56.00. The part cost me $3.50 shipped.

Thanks guys. This is exactly what I was looking for. It looks simple enough, and I don't think I will have any problems. I knew I could count on this list for this kind of information.

The part arrived in the mail today. Success! It’s already installed. Kel-Tec also sent a replacement spring. I guess they expected me to lose the one that was in there, and wanted to save me the trouble of having to order the spring. I didn’t. It took me longer to find my tools, drill a hole in a 2x4, and cut the point off of a nail to make a punch than it actually took to change out the slide stop. Reinstalling the lower spring anchor point was a bit tricky. I needed a longer screw driver to get it done.

I have noticed several posts on this list asking about the Kel-Tec P 11. What amazes me about this pistol is the extreme simplicity of the design. I am thinking about stocking a few spare parts for it, and I think I could keep it functioning for a long time without too much trouble. Thanks for the help. I feel a lot better about owning this pistol now.
