Kel Tec P15

The grip texturing on the sides looks aggressive. I think if they make enough of them for me to ever see one in real life, and they have a .30SC version holding 17+1 and $450ish street price I will be a buyer.

Funny looking grip safety, but I think a grip safety makes more sense on a striker fired gun than a trigger dingus.

Finally got my p-11 running the way I want it. Flat faced trigger, mcarbo reduced power springs, etc.

It is possible to have too thin grip imho

Looks to be modular and I can see the mag release is ambi. Cant really tell much else. The rear of the slide is strange. Guessing its set for an optics mount component. Frame pins look to be good for staying secure. Its not a clamshell like most of what keltec has been putting out....thats good. Steel magazines that look like Mecgars.... very good. They did away with the separate barrel pin and are useing the slide stop. Also went back to the Grendel P10/12 style trigger guard. Sights look to be steal and possibly the trigger is as well. I am guessing that plastic rear on the slide is a cover because the extractor setup is hidden under it. Most likely a long striker fired trigger.

Looks like an actual carry worth pistol from keltec instead of the range toys they have been putting out. Lots of little details in steel rather than Keltecs plastic. Should be a hit. I will probably pick one up eventually once they stop selling for $6-700 on early sales to youtube nuts. Final price... no idea but I dont think they will be able to undercut Taurus GX4....it will be close though.

Thats all I got looking at the pictures

If you have not already....Get yourself a stainless mag catch and dump that fragile plastic crap keltec put on the p11s.

I suppose I'm a KelTec fanboy because I have several - P11, P40, P3AT, PF9, Sub2000, PMR 30 - and have had good luck with all of them. Well, except the P40 which is particularly nasty to shoot. Because it is so light, the PF9 is in my fanny pack or handlebar bag when I'm bicycling.

The new one sounds interesting, but I'm set with the ones I have.

surprised Kellgren went that long with the slide since he is always shaving off every fraction of an ounce possible. Hopefully its beefed up a little more than the PF9. Kind of glad he kept the grip shorter like the P11/F9 and went with a grip extension.

Just like the rest of the double stack micro 9's it looks too big to pocket carry. .875" wide and 14oz empty are nice specs but the 6.6" length and 5" height would make it an IWB gun for me. Until I actually get my hands on one and put it in a pocket holster it is really hard to tell. I was very excited about the P365 and Hellcat when they were released until I tried to slip them into a pocket at the gun store. They just would not work as a pocket carry for me.

My only Keltec experience has been my P32 and it has been a fantastic bug gun for me.

Say how do you like that P40? Just curious.

I don't like it at all. It functions fine but the recoil is brutal. I'm an old guy and somewhat recoil sensitive anyway, but the P40 is going to auction. The P11 and the PF9 are not range toys, but tolerable for a few shots to keep in practice.

If you could do something useful to improve Kel-Tec triggers, I'd buy a lot more Kel-tecs.

It is striker fired so I would expect it to be a completely different animal than the P-11 I used to have.

The grip safety looks awful small. That is what it looks like though.

I can't wait to see what's going on with the slide and the plastic part.

Replaceable cover for optics mount I suspect. Also cuts down on machining. Goes with the pattern of keltec.... modularity with low cost manufacturing. Pretty smart.... cheap.... but smart.

No kidding about the P40. Years ago, my father, who never shot a pistol in his life, wanted one for home defense. Despite all of my recommendations, he fell in love with the P40 and was dead-set on buying it. We went to the range, and that was a big OOF. Shortly thereafter we went back to the store and he traded it for a Colt Official Police .38.

strange magazine catch... looks like a three piece ambi design.

Long slide... short grip... overall very thin and light. Lots of things that points towards easy concealment. I think these will be well recieved in the CCW world. Grip safety doesnt bother me. It sticks out so far I suspect it will engage very easily without problem.

Not the best looking pistol I have ever seen but Keltec is more function over form so not a huge departure from the norm.

I just watched “the firearms guy”. I like his content. Gonna pass on this one due to a mag disconnect on that alone.

the one with the aluminum frame does more for me than the plastic, especially if it’s a wee heavier and chambered in .30 super carry

I would think that someone comes up with a disconnect override too

P15 has a switch to disable the magazine disconnect if user so wishes. It's useful for dry-fire practice.
That is a new one to me. Thanks for the education. I am probably not gonna pick one up. But more guns available are always welcome. I look forward to the range reports.

Seems kinda long for a so called "micro" pistol. I have a couple P17s which are similar in size but they're too big to pocket carry. Very nice for IWB carry though, light and thin.

I can't get over a pistol that's screwed together. I'm pretty open-minded, but that's just not 'right', IMHO.
