I bought my P3AT last summer. I've shot it very little, carried it a lot, putting about 300 total rounds through it. Monday I was at the range with my Colt Targetsman and decided to shoot the .380 a few times to stay familiar with it. After the third round, it did not cock the hammer. A little checking revealed the hammer spring had broken close to the hammer spring catch.
Tuesday I called the dealer and told them what happened, asking if they had any springs handy. They said I would have to call Cocoa, FL, that it had a lifetime warranty and KelTec would take care of it. The guy I talked to in Customer Service was willing to send me a new hammer spring, no problem, but when I asked for an extra one, even offering to pay for it, he said he couldn't do that, "they never break." Uh huh.
I haven't received the spring yet. This experience and Customer Service's attitude has got me thinking I may try another brand, maybe Ruger's LCP.
