Kel-Tec P32 vs. P3AT what to do.....

Another good option for carry ammo in the P-3AT is the one from Double Tap. It's standard pressure with a Speer 90gr HP at 1000fps from a P-3AT. Other than the DPX it might be the best round available for the little .380s. They run $26 for 50.

My Armalaser equipped 2nd gen P-3AT had to make one trip back home to FL after I bought it as it wouldn't feed hp's reliably. It came back in less than two weeks and has since digested about 500 rounds flawlessly. The first mag through it at the range is always the one that has been in it for carry and it always works. I top off after loading so I have on in the chamber plus 6 in the mag. I love the ugly little thing but if I were buying one today I would get the LCP. Ruger designed the trigger bar to drop in from the top instead of the bottom like on the KT where they have been known to drop out and jam up the gun.

he made his choice

if you read a couple posts ago, and got the 3AT. That is what I did couple years ago, got a 1st gen 3AT. Have never had a malfunction in those years and several hundred rounds. Carry mine every day--feel that confiident in mine.

I bought my P3AT last summer. I've shot it very little, carried it a lot, putting about 300 total rounds through it. Monday I was at the range with my Colt Targetsman and decided to shoot the .380 a few times to stay familiar with it. After the third round, it did not cock the hammer. A little checking revealed the hammer spring had broken close to the hammer spring catch.

Tuesday I called the dealer and told them what happened, asking if they had any springs handy. They said I would have to call Cocoa, FL, that it had a lifetime warranty and KelTec would take care of it. The guy I talked to in Customer Service was willing to send me a new hammer spring, no problem, but when I asked for an extra one, even offering to pay for it, he said he couldn't do that, "they never break." Uh huh.

I haven't received the spring yet. This experience and Customer Service's attitude has got me thinking I may try another brand, maybe Ruger's LCP.

Good job my ***

What's good about taking a proven design and copying it?
If the Chinese had done this we'd all be writing our congressmen.

Sure, the Ruger is nicer looking, and I may eventually buy one.
But I'd feel better about it if I knew Ruger was paying the royalties they obviously owe to Keltec.

Oh, I own both a P32 and a P3AT, 2nd one of each. Just sent in my first warranty - cosmetic issue on a nearly-new P3AT. Only 1 FTE in one of the 4 I've owned, and I chalked that up to dirty ammo - the gun was filthy after 48 rounds.

Just picked up some Buffalo Bore rounds for the P3AT.
I normally use DPX or Magtech
In the P32 I use Silvertips

Got home from work yesterday afternoon and found a package from Kel-Tec in the mail. They sent me an assembly consisting of the hammer, the hammer spring, and the hammer spring catch. They also included detailed instructions for replacement. Can't complain about their speed!
