just got a P32 for $200. i need ammo suggestions now.
not sure which is good for the little thing. i plan on using it as a "just in case something happens" gun and it better than nothing considering the range ill be shooting is about 6 or 7ft.
these are what i found that have a good reputation.
magtech- 65gr
hornady- 60gr
gold dot- 60gr
federal- 65gr
corbon- 60gr

S&B 71g fmj

Fmj for two reasons.

Jhp in 32 or 380 lack sufficient penatration if they expand.

And rimlock jamming can be a problem with shorter jhp rounds.

I had a p32 that prooved to be an amazing shooter even out to 25yds. I should have never sold that gun.

I don't have a .32acp. If I did, I'd probably find the hottest FMJ that I could, and run that.

None of the above (those on the poll).
Get the hottest, heaviest FMJ you can. I carry RWS, Fiocchi, or Prvi 71/72 grain FMJ, with a Prvi 71 grain JHP in the chamber and top of the mag.

I have had hard primers with S & B ammo. Fiocchi is very good as is RWS. Actually any of the European ammo is loaded to higher pressures than our anemic ammo. If you go with a hollow point you can only load 1 in the pipe and 1 on top of the mag. otherwise you are subject to rimlock which, I assure you is real with the .32 acp ctg. Corbon makes the hottest 60 gr. round, but it does't penetrate worth a hoot and it comes apart.

Piling on for none of the above.
When I carried one of these, the RWS FMJ was the hottest, most reliable load I could find.

I have a KT P32 and I only shoot & load FMJ.

Only FMJ.

When shooting such a little "pill" for SD, you want as much penetration as possible to reach major organs and CNS. No magic bullet is going to help make the .32 perform like a big bullet.

I don't have a Keltec but I do have an NAA Guardian in .32 acp.
I use Magtech LRN with a Buffulo Bore in the chamber.
Don't let the '+P' in the Buffalo Bore description scare you...there is no SAAMI spec for a +P .32 acp. It is just loaded hot, not much difference in recoil.

None of the poll choices.
As was already said several times; Sellier & Bellot 73-grain FMJ (or the older Fiocchi FMJ).
I own a bunch of .32acp pistols (ancient and modern), including both 1st Gen and 2nd Gen Kel-Tec P32's...I use S&B almost exclusively in them these days.

.

Here is my test on the Winchester Silvertip.
If they don't expand reliably why would you use them..let alone buy a product you know won't work when you need it to.
Expansion belongs only in appropriate calibers and should only be considered when it does not interfere with penetration.
I at least opt for LRN bullets since they have the potential to deform when striking bone.

Thanks for the info.
Just came back from shooting it and found out, its not that bad. I used american eagle federal 71gr had no problems but used the cheap stuff at the range, ppu or something and jammed 1 out 3 rounds.
The slide didn't lock back when I was shooting either for both brands. What could be a reason for that?

I'm not sure the p32 has a slide lock feature. But its been a long time since I had one

The gun is okay. But I know I'm gonna end up selling it. For a .380 or the ruger lc9

+1 for any FMJ that feeds reliably (I admit to not having come across any of the weak, anemic new stuff yet).

My P32 is the only gun that never feels too big, too heavy, or too sharp to carry.

GECO
Sellier & Bellot
Fiocchi
Dynamite Nobel
ALL FMJ, ALL hotter European loadings.
I see no reason to load hollowpoints in my P-32
