Kel Tec p3at. Tell me all the problems.

Tell you about the problems...okay, this may take a while...take a seat:
1. Well, no...that never happened.
2. The...nope...that either.
3. Oh, the...well darned...that worked well also.
You know, come to think of it, my hard-chromed P3AT has never failed in any way shape or form. That is the reason I bought the hard-chromed model. I was told it would not fail in part due to the finish. If you don't have one, get one. I wear one on my left ankle as a back-up.

I love mine for shorts carry in the summer. cant beat it.
Did the "fluff and buff" and shot 100 rounds plus a few boxes of corbon through it...100% reliable.
I cant see myself shooting it more than a few times a year for practice though...its simply NOT fun to shoot IMO.

1. Trigger pin (that sits behind trigger and takes the load the plastic trigger can't) worked it's way out and stopped function.
2. Mag release constantly releases mag while in my pocket.
3. You cannot detail disassemble easily, and reassembly is no easier.
4. Failures to extract, empty sitting halfway out of chamber.
5. Sights are almost nonexistent.
You just asked for the problems, so I won't go into what I like about the pistol.

Trigger sucks. Heavy, long pull with nothing resembling "crispness" at all. Signifigant creep.
"sights" aren't great.
Outside of that, it's fine. It does precisely what it was meant to do, which was to be a reliable, easily concealed pocket gun. A good trigger isn't exactly a requirement when your shooting at the ranges that I think the Kel-Tec is most suited to (maybe a couple feet past outstretched arm and in), and sights, again, aren't really necessary at that range, although I still wish it actually had good sights. I would recommend one, but those are the problems that I have with it.

As with any Kel-Tec small pistol, the shooter must become part of the grip and hold strong pressure against the force of the slide moving back when the pistol is fired. I try to use both hands to control the pistol and I seldom have any firing problems unless I get lazy or just forget.

Isee nothing wrong with the trigger Just like a revolver Only thing must leave it go all way back foward or will misfire.
My 3 have been perfect from day one.Right out of box. I just removed from box oiled slide loaded mag and went to shooting After a 100 rounds I took apart and cleaned.

The trigger reset is way too long, theres a decent enough chance you'll get a bum one, its so small I find it difficult to shoot well, its chambered in .380 which is considered by many too weak a caliber to use expanding bullets in to keep sufficient penetration.

One needs to hang onto it.....it's not very tolerant of a limp wrist.....
