Kel-Tec.... Yay or Nay?

I have owned my P-380 for about 2 years now and other than the ocasional brass to the head it has been a great pocket pistol. I carry it mostly in the summer with shorts and t-shirt.

MGRII, call Kel-Tec 1-800-515-9983 and inform them you are getting brass to the head. They will likely send you the latest version Extractor (that piece you loose when you clean your P-3AT), which should throw brass more to the right.

I have the p-11 and have never had a single problem.IWB it is invisible and is my main carry gun.I will probably upgrade to something more acc. when I have more cash, but I trust it.Will also carry in loose jeans with big pockets.

No get a PPK large enough to hang onto and small enough for carry. Barrel allowa 380 to get up to speed something KT doesn't Better yet find a good Colt Mustang. Least it will go up in value as you carry. Don't be taken in by little and light.

keltec

had a keltec 9mm and 32 model.they were handy little guns for door stops in my house.now i use the 32 for a paper weight and the 9 for a boat anchor.:cuss:

Kel Tec P3AT

Hi Lightsped,

Our P3AT has done well by us, shootin nothing but WW Bulk ammo. It's about the most caliber for the least weight on the makrket. We've never done the F&B. We put a bit of oil on the bearing surfaces and the cheap WW .380 does just fine in ours.
I can't plink with it, but its pleanty accurate at 10 yards.

Be Well,

Scarface

There are two kinds of gun owners, those who like Kel-Tec and those who don't. Both are right. It doesn't matter which camp you're in, but you have to be in one or the other. Until then, you're not in the 21st century.

By all means, go a get a Kel-Tec. You may find yourself one of the mild many who pack a little plastic doo-dad and like it. Or you may become one of the less cheerful few who deem Kel-Tec an abomination. Either way, you'll have found your rightful place. No one will resent you in either case.

I've got a P32....

and it's fine with me. Incredibly light and compact, mine has never failed to fire or eject. Maybe I'm lucky. I've tried carrying other weapons (Kimber, Sig, Glock), with good holsters (Milt Sparks with a good gun belt) and I just don't like carrying even a moderate sized weapon. I may be sorry some day but at least I'm never without the P32.

I have nothing bad to say about Kel-Tec. my P11 (DC) has been flawless except for one ftfeed, and that was due to limpwristing. my 16yr old was trying out some hot 147gr and just couldn't quite tame it after 3 rounds. it was also a new mag, so i thought maybe that was it. i got it back from him and fired the next 7 without a hitch. i trust my life to it (that, my brain, my 8-1/2" folder, and my BUG).

P11 is the only Kel-Tec i have shot. my brother has a P32 and a P3AT. he loves the 32 but had to send his 380 back for re-work. he hasn't had a chance to shoot it since it came back, so i'm waiting to hear about it.

all in all, with a lifetime warranty... YAY

LIAR! At 8oz and 14oz respectively, neither is going to stop much of a door or anchor much of a boat!

YAY! My P32/3AT/32NAA/11/40/357 all run just fine.

I have a P11 and a P3AT, and they're both great. I really love being able to pocket carry the P3AT. Even if I'm out in the garage crawling under cars and such, or 105 degrees outside, it's still comfortable to carry.

To be honest my P3AT did have to make a trip back to the factory, it didn't extract the majority of the time out of the box. It's been fine since I got it back.

My wife liked my P3AT so much that we got her one too, and her permit :) That's worth the money for me right there! Her P3AT has been flawless BTW.

I had a p32 that was fine as far as function--never a malfunction, fairly accurate for what it is and the trigger. Very light and thin so one of the most concealable pistols you can find. I think they have their place.

That having been said, I got it out of the drawer one day and found that it had significant rust on the outside of the barrel, which was odd--never had that happen with any other pistol I have owned, and some of them I have had for quite a few years (have had my permit for 20 yrs). Not sure what was up with that. Polished it off w/out much fuss, but didn't really sit well and I traded it off. Ended up with a S&W 431 32 mag instead.

I've heard rumors that some women concealed carry them disguised as earrings.

Kel-tec 380

I owned one for about two weeks. I shot about 200 rounds through it. I didn't like it so I sold it. . I guess it just wasn't the gun for me.

I then bought a Walther PPKS in 380 and love it. Differn't strokes fer differn't folks is all I can say.

A buddy of mine always says..."Buy it....shoot it....if ya like it keep it, if ya don't sell it and buy another!"

Works for me.

I have a p32. At 15 yards it shoots left and slightly low. Since I shot left handed I thought with the long trigger pull I should give it a chance but after 300 rounds it is still hitting at the same point of impact. Upon a close look at he barrel it appears to be bored of center and guess where left at 7 :eek:o. I measured both sides inside the lands and there is a .025" difference in the width. Needless to say it will go back.

Have a P-32 for almost 2 years, no problems ever, carry it EVERYWHERE because I can.I use ball ammo only for reliability, penetration in .32acp.
Bought a 9mm P-11 over 8 months ago, no problems ever, shoots any type of ammo.
Both guns accurate at 10 yards, both used as mostly backups, sometimes primary, both carried w/ 1 extra mag.

Both these guns were purchased used, are older style, never any mods by me. If you can shoot a DA revolver, you will have no trouble with the trigger, just keep a firm grip and you will have no problems.

In 10 years, everything, even revolvers, will be plastic (your car is right now) so get over it.

Kel-Tec

My usual carry is a P-11, I have 3 mags all with the finger extension. I use a Fobus paddle holster for convenience. (we had some places off-limits here). I trust the 9mm especially with 3 mags, however I've been thinking lately about depending on the Kel-Tec in a life or death situation. Among others, I also carry a .40 Kimber Ultra Carry II, and a 45 cal Taurus PT 745. I'm going to re-evaluate the trade off of size and weight to dependability. Maybe if I run 4-500 rounds through the P-II I may feel different. It is light and easy to carry though. Good Luck, I hope if you buy one, it's a good one out of the box.
