Finally got her the way I want. I got the rifle a little over a month ago and had a gasblock failure on the first two rounds out of the gun. Kel Tec got it replaced an shooting good so I am happy. I finished her off with a Model one sales one piece riser/ring combo, Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36mm scope, Quad rail and an Aim green laser.
I've put a couple hundred rounds through her since she went back for warranty work and have had no issues. I also have a good load for her that is giving me right at 1" groups at 100 yards. Now I'll see how she does in the field and use her to bust a few piggies.

Looks good and glad to hear it's running well for you now. Can you get a good cheek weld with the scope that high? Everyone is made different, so I'm just wondering, not critiquing.

I'd really like to see someone run one of those in Heavy Metal division for 3Gun. Assuming they could stand up to the demands of the sport, it might make for an interesting choice, especially if the new trigger is as good as they claim.

The cheek weld is really not bad at all, the pic is pretty deceiving. The center of the scope is only 2 1/4" above the stock, higher than an average deer rifle but very workable as it is.

Awesome looks great!!!! what type of loads are you using?

BTW what is the searial number (1 of 5)???!!! lol

I settled on 168 grain Berger VLD's for hunting pushed by 43.0 grains of Varget and CCI primers. That load was giving me 5 shot groups right at 1" at 100 yards.

As for the serial number it is one of the first 600. ;)

So far I haven't put more than 80 rounds in one setting. A couple of the drawbacks are that it is heavy for a little gun and it does have substantially more recoil than my AR-10. The trigger is very nice for a bullpup and I think it would be a great CQB rifle in the right hands.

Great! Glad to hear that they fixed you up this time. I am looking forward to getting one, but I really want to hear what the other cartridge offerings are going to be first (hoping for a .260Rem. or 7mm-08Rem.).

:)

Very cool. I would like one of these very much. Perhaps one day.

How can recoil be that much different than other 308s? It is the same cartridge, isn't it?

Stock design and the gas system can make big differences in felt recoil of different rifles in the same caliber. This rifle seems to channel recoil very well to the shooter!

I have handled one, and while the buttpad was sticky and seemingly soft, it was fairly thin, that may be a contributing factor. Additionally, while not light, it is lighter than the average AR-10, so that would certainly factor in. Fit could very well be the culprit, and IMO probably is. Because of poor fit my Browning 1895 lever action .30-06Spfd. has more perceived recoil than my Whitworth Mauser .375H&H (which has outstanding fit), despite an inconsequential difference in weight and outstanding difference in cartridge performance (BTW I don't download for the .375H&H). These two rifles are a perfect example of what a great fit (for me) can do, or what the effects of poor fitment can be.
