Keltec .32 opinions

I am not sold on KEL TEC'S quality. I have one and it was defective from the factory. KEL TEC fixed it, but now I am wary. I have had other .32ACP pistols and think the Beretta Tomcat 3032 is the best pocket pistol for the money. It is heavier and a little bulkier, but shoots much better and has been 100% reliable.

Floridaboy,

If you have not yet bought one........ there is one in my trouser pocket right now, right here in Florida. Only issue I ever had was with Silver Tip HP ammo which gave me rim lock. I had been carrying FMJ until a bud ribbed me about it. Fortunately the rim lock occurred while I did not really need the pistol. I fixed it by going back to FMJ and not worrying about it. I considered doing like I did way back with a Star PD and carrying one HP up the spout and a magazine of FMJ which was all the PD liked, but decided to just go with FMJ. It has ridden in a trouser pocket inside a little pocket holster from Wally World from Key Largo to Pensacola. No rust since about a year after they came out to today and still works. (more than one holster though)

No it is not the pistol I want to try to do a roll over prone shot at 100 yards with, nor the pistol I want if the neighbors bull again breaks down the back fence and this time is angry about it. But, in my opinion at least, for SD most of the time at seven yards or less and one or maybe two human or smaller attackers it is Shakspherian......twill serve, twill serve.

i like 32acp. my semiauto pistol ccw is a naa guardian, its steel absorbs recoil nicely. has anyone tried both the naa and keltec? how do they compare as a shooter?

Had both and hated the heavy as a brick NAA. The NAA was unreliable and because it is a “blowback” has way more felt recoil compared to the “locked breech” P32.

thanks much for feedback. maybe im lucky but my naa has been 100% reliable with plain fmj ammo. sometimes the last round is fte but that apparently is on purpose to signal an empty mag. i like the heftier naa to fill the hand and absorb recoil. naa is very easy to fieldstrip with great free factory service. i wish could find a keltec to shoot, but no rentals near me, as it has a good following and i like mouse guns.

Trust me when I tell you that the weight of the NAA does not absorb nearly as much recoil as the locked breech action on the P32 does

I carried a .32 NAA Guardian for 15 years. I always thought it was a pretty soft shooter. I agree it is too heavy especially compared to the plastic guns of today. I like carrying my LCP better than the NAA. The main advantage for me with the LCP is that it is lighter. Having a bigger grip and shooting .380 instead of .32 are bonuses. I still own and love my NAA though! I never had any feed issues with mine using round nose or JHP.

I would like to pick up a P32 if I found a good deal someday. I doubt I would ever carry it but I do like mouse guns!

I have a P32 and a P3AT. They have both been 100% reliable (I have only used FMJ in them). The P32 is more pleasant to shoot, but has worse sights and I don't trust the caliber for SD.

If you are okay with 32acp for SD, it is the most concealable one out there. I would certainly not feel unarmed with one. It is absurdly easy to conceal, easily the best CC 32acp pistol I have ever shot.

I carry the P3AT instead, but it does chew my hand up a little bit after a box of ammo.
