Keltec P32 your opinions

It happens to be the only gun I have that girls call "cute." They can't say the same about some of the big black ones!

I bought one for $240 before the CA deadline. They are not approved for sale here. The dealer then sold the same gun to someone else. I finally tracked him down and forced him to cough up a P32. He agreed to buy one at any price from another dealer at the SF gun show and provide it to me. The other dealers hate this guy and charged him $342. I now own the most expensive P32 in CA.
I sent it back to Cocoa Beach once and then had it chromed by Jack Fusillier. I shoot RWS, S&B or Fiocchi FMJ.

Opt for the Hard Chrome slide model for couple of reasons. First it does help the looks considerably and that is just my opinion (and others as well) second, It should assure of a late production hand gun with most of the bugs taken care of. When you are selecting your ammo for carry, check out the Speer Gold Dot 90 gr JHP, this particular round has become a reliable favorite of many who carry the P3AT..Very good gun for the money...As several have said it is not a gun you will want to shoot 100-200 rounds at the range due to the recoil. But you do need to practice enough to be proficient and remember that it is a up close and personal kind of gun. getting 1.5" groups at 25 yards isn't the reason you will be carrying it. Best of luck...

I have the NAA .32 and the Keltec P32 and P3AT. I polished the feedramps of both of the .32's. The P32 improved significantly. The NAA .32 Guardian did not. As a result, I've never carried the Guardian. I've never had a problem of any type with the P3AT after shooting several hundred rounds of JHP through it.

Had one, did all the fluff and buff stuff. It still hicupped once in a while. Replaced it with a S&W 431.

Byron ~ Talk to the NAA people about that Guardian. Their customer service is usually pretty good.

I would recommend you install a NAA finger extension (Bersa if you don’t own fingernail clippers) on an extra magazine during break-in. This gives new mousegun shooters a chance to become accustom to the P-32. This is especially true if your wife intends to fire more than a few magazines at a range session. Installation info can be found here http://www.geocities.com/PocketGuns/P32ext.html

There is no qustion that the Kel-Tec P-32 has some SERIOUS reliability and quality control problems. I would stay far away from them.

I know it is tempting to get one but this gun is designed for self defense and IMHO, it just does not have the track record you want for a gun that may save your life or the life of your loved ones.

What if your wife pulls the gun in a moment of need and it fails to fire? The attacker is probably going to be pretty angry and will more likely do more harm to her because she tried to kill him. Now, what if she pulls a Bersa .380 or a S&W snubby? These guns actually tend to work so the result will be one live wife and one dead BG instead of the other way around.

I don't mean to put too fine a point on it but these KT pistols are true saturday night specials that don't work as often as many other guns. It is hard to guess but from what I have seen, it seems about 40-50% of people on these gun forums have had some sort of problem with there KT P-32. I am not saying that 40-50% of the P-32s are junk (I think they are all junk), I am just saying that many people come to the gunforums to find help or discuss there problems.

Check out the Kel-Tec forum and if that doesn't scare you away from buying a P-32, have at it.

I own 2 KT p32's....One goes everywhere with me and has been reliable, once I found what brand it liked...

Go for the hardchrome thingy..I am going to send one of mine off this week for that same treatment...

albanian, I think you have the P3AT board mixed up with the P32 board from KTOG.

P32 and P11 pistols are pretty good for the money spent, don't expect perfection and you won't be disappointed.
P3AT and P40s leave a lot to be desired though.

My experience has been just the opposite with the P32 and the P3AT. I've shot probably going on three hundred rounds of several brands of JHP through my P3AT without a malfunction of any type. My P32 was reliable for BUG but need to be fluffed and buffed. Also it was picky about ammo. Thus far, I've shot at least four different brands of JHP through the P3AT.

The Second-Generation HC P-3AT (upper left) was 10% over priced at $279. The First-Generation HC P-3AT (lower right) is one of a bunch of hard chromes purchased from $110 to $249 (new & used). All will shoot anything I feed them. I consider the P-3AT an excellent buy but I wouldn’t recommend it for novice shooters or folks with weak hands. Those folks should start with the P-32.

I have a P-32 that has been completely reliable. I've probably got around 500 rounds through it. I do, however, carry a Seecamp as my backup weapon of choice, but would not hesitate to carry the KT if circumstances required. I have heard a lot about poor reliability, but have not experience it myself - mine is the chromed slide, so I don't know if that matters or not. I personally would avoid the NAA Guardian, as I had 2 that were VERY unreliable - one bought new, one the company replaced the original with after several returns to the factory.

IIRC, I paid around $209 for my KT, and $419 for my Seecamp.

I have no experience with the P-32 but I have shot a friends P3AT and it seemed to work fairly well. The price you stated is very high in my region (South East USA) and i would recommend you get one from somewhere else.

A great guide for prices is Buds Gun Shop which has the best prices I have ever seen.
