I bought my wife a Kel-Tec P-32 a while ago, and broke it in for her with a couple of hundred rounds of FMJ. I had zero issues with it.

However, when my wife shoots, she gets an occasional FTRB or stovepipe jam.

The FTRB's are addressed with a small tap on the back of the slide, and I've trained her on how to clear a stovepipe jam.

My question is this: since I've never had a problem with the gun when shooting it, but she has, is this a problem with the gun, or is it due to her lesser grip strength?

She has admittedly weak wrists, and she chose the P32 since it was one of the few guns she could rack.

I'm thinking that the FTRBs could be helped with a little polishing of the feed ramp, but the stovepipes I'm not sure what to do about.

Any thoughts?

Sure sounds like a "limp wristing" issue. I'm not an expert on Kel-Tecs, but I wonder if maybe clipping a coil or so off the recoil spring might help. I've done that in the past to get light .45ACP loads to cycle, now I just buy 14# springs.

Is your wife shooting the same ammo or is it different ammo? My p-32 feeds most fmj and cor bon 60 gr jhp fine. I tried one box of Hornady XTP 60 gr jhp and got most all of them to fail going into the chamber after firing the first round.

I would go easy on polishing the feed ramp if you choose to go that route because the chamber is already unsupported. Maybe the p-32 is not the gun for your wife. Have you and your wife thought about a 32 or 38 cal revolver?
