Ok right now I’m leaning towards getting an Extar EP9. Seems gtg and has most of what I’m looking for. Inexpensive at 419 and weighs only 4lbs. Length 23”. Basically a polymer AR9 Pistol. Charging handle on side and has last round bolt hold open. Gets very positive reviews. Anyone own one of these?

I’m starting to lean back that way too. Might pick one up soon as probably best for quick throw in a backpack and relatively inexpensive. Have a cheap but works simple easy on/off red dot I’d carry with it. Not sure I’d spend the money on a swivel mount. Then in time might also pick up the Extar or the new Ruger PC Charger that I just found out about. That looks pretty cool.

Update. Wound up ordering a Freedom Ordnance FX-9 4.5” barrel today. Paid 640 which seemed good. Fit the bill for what I was looking for good as only 18.5” long and 4.5 lbs. seems like a nice AR style pistol with last round hold bolt open. Sorry, had another thread in handgun section titled “Extar EP9” as was looking at both 9mm carbines and AR pistols. Some may see this update twice.
