Anyone know, or might be able to point out, what the laws are for ownership of the handgun in Kentucky for someone under 21, but 18 or older?

I know you have to be 21 to purchase the firearm from an FFL as well as handgun ammo, but that's about all I could find. Laws also state you can carry one if under 18 with these rules: Guardian note saying you can use it for a specific purpose, and carry the handgun to and from the place of purpose unloaded. You can also posses one while directly under guardian supervision.

So, can an 18 y/o legally 'own' and carry a loaded handgun in Kentucky? Open carry here is legal.

Been there before, but I don't see much that's useful. CCW is for 21 and older, and they don't show any specific laws with regard to open carry or owning a handgun, that I've seen anyway.

Start with KC3.org they have a lot of info on carrying in KY. They have the full text of the CCW law on their website. If the CCW law doesn't have the info you need then go here:

Kentucky Revised Statutes

All the KY laws are online and searchable by keyword from that site.
