hello FROM vANCOUVER island. FIRST POST. just came into the possession of a .50 cal. flintlock. previous owner never shot it.(know him). it looks exactly like TRADITIONS kentucky flintlock.(see their web site).. barrel is marked BELL SPAIN .50cal. BLACK POWDER ONLY. just above pan ,is, 700KP/cm 4. ( presume this proof load maximum). does anyone know if thin IS a TRADITIONS rifle or another make??? contact on site or email me at [email protected] thank-you B.B. :banghead:

Posting a photo or two would be a great help in IDing this rifle. Many makers build for multible vendors.

The Traditions weapons I own and have owned have never been actually manufactured by Traditions. My Traditions Trapper pistol was also made in Spain. I do not know the actual manufacturer, but the pistol is reasonably accurate!

Almost, if not all of Traditions muzzle loading guns are made by Ardesa, (except the revolvers). But not all Ardesa guns are imported by Traditions.

QUICK RESPONSE thanks

THANK YOU for the quick responses. i,m lucky to be able to type on this computer but post a picture???????? hell,:scrutiny: that will take a bit of doing:( it sure looks like the KENTUCKY rifle code R-2010 on TRADITIONS web site). B.B.

If I'm not mistaken if it is a Traditions it will say Traditions somewhere on the barrell

It appears that Bell is the importer or name the gun was branded with. If you can sescribe the proof marks it will help identifying the manufacturer.

proof marks on flinter

:uhoh: the proof markings consist of what i can best discribe as a pyrimad of three circles. like the number 8, laying horizontal with another zero on top,. neht to it is 700KP/cm2. this i understand means 9900p.s.i. which is about max.pressure for a soft steel barrel. BIG BEAR
